Scotty. A few modern cars burn oil for a reason. They are literally designed to do so. They do it to get better gas mileage. What they do is they have the oil go into the piston walls and that creates less resistance, allowing the engine to breathe more freely. Thats why a lot of modern engines take more and more oil. Because its physically designed to burn some between oil changes. Stop putting this bullshit out there. Yes, the way it used to be was that cars werent meant to burn oil. Times have changed. To any fans of Scotty reading this, dont believe everything he says. Dont believe anything I say. Dont believe anything anybody says until youve done the research and fact checking for yourself. Scotty likes to put a fair amount of misinformation out there.

Ok Im not saying the eco boost is going to b better. But I have done extreme Research on these trucks. If ur gonna yo any towing what so ever they 3. 5 is going to b way better I just recently bought one the 5. 0s when u tow shift way more then the 3. 5 and my buddy/Dentist has a 11 and he has money being the owner of the company so he goes over on oil changes runs the crap out of it had it low on oil once and it still runs like when he got it. So yea still Im not a mechanic but they do seem to last but yet the 5. 0 has been around for how long and been proven but I took the chance being I tow a lot I wanted one anyways and so far love it but great vid Scotty

Engines start getting worse gas mileage because of maintenance and the computers self learn needs to be reset. If you are driving around with a dirty air filter, clogged fuel filter, or worn spark plugs. The engines computer is going to try to adjust for all of those issues. After you change those parts you need to have the self learning reset. If your local mechanic cannot reset it. Take it to a dealership and have them do it. It will save you money and get your fuel mileage back on track.

scotty, you may want to mention for future JDM import questions that most JDM imported have their mileage wind back by the 100, 000s. The good ones are never exported and stays in japan, only the beaten ones are exported. All the R32 GTRs Ive seen here have low milage, but once tranny is taken apart, it has 300, 000k at the minimal. They are money pits from another country, thats how the private shops make money off the crazy repairs once they sold people a fake low milage JDM import.

Every car every manufacturer uses oil. It was never a big deal back in the day because we were changing oil every 3000 miles so we never noticed it, now we are doing 7000 to 10000 between oil changes and yes you are going to notice oil consumption, stop telling people there motors are not built correctly and putting fear in people, if you dont like the car using oil change your oil more often its not going to hurt the car to over maintain.

Scotty, I just bought a 2012 Volvo s60 155k miles. A week from the day I bought it the Idler pulley seized up and caused it to jump time. I had it towed to Volvo dealer. Theyre charging me 1, 000 to replace belt tensioner, idler pulley, new belts, and get it back into time. Did I get ripped off on the car or the service? Do you think it will be a money pit? The car seamed to be in really good shape from what I could tell.

Opel in Europe generally a low-cost youre not gonna get too much reliable car, theyre comfy nice zippy cars with good reliable engines. Not so hard to repair and not expensive to do so either. A good working mans daily car but can undertake big trips too specially the Insignias. We had an Astra II a long time ago 1. 7 diesel (not for too long) and it was a nice car but wasnt so beginner friendly on the driving techniques: )

1: 36 When you get into oddball things, stuff can get expensive. That is actually true. Some part are getting really expensive for my Roadmaster wagon. Used to be a common platform, now its becoming obsolete. A fuel pump hanger set me back 500 dollars because only GM sold the part, I put it in but I still had to buy it from them. Aftermarket suppliers quit carrying it. Partially why Im thinking of selling it.
