I did some thing similar, but i used my old Creative 2. 1 Woofer. That was the first speaker i bought for my PC, it was great for one room. Then moved to bigger Sony. Then decided to make one myself, with a dual coil 12 woofer, so that the whole house rocks. So now Creative and sony were just lying around. Then i converted my Alto LXi to CNG, had to remove every thing in dicky. It's my daily cheap drive. Office is 32kms, only an alto can be efficient enough and good in traffic. CNG removed every thing in my dicky and its in storeroom, including the woofers. So i decided to take Sony woofer and use it on default music system. But Damn at home the woofer looked small in the car, it was huge. Then i was left with Creative woofer, i took it in car attached to system and damn, i had good nice BASS. BASS is only for people inside the car, outside it's very mild, but creative speakers just have good bass quality even when the speaker is just 4 inch in diameter. I am attaching another 4 sub so that the other free speaker gets connected to it and then BASS will be 2X.

6 years later 0 to 100 in 45 seconds is very funny there are 6 differnt cars that were made in america around the same time period that would go from zero to broke backing out the drive way that little caR you guys have is a BEAST i have seen that model car IN other videos i have a 06 Jaguar i consider broken because stereo IS BROKEN AN ALPINE DOUBLE DIN ( no idea if thats good or bad ) does not work minuim 1000 to fix if just the amp is bad head unit 1600 no usb ports or features worth mentioning Jag dealer recomende after market i hope this works IF THE Car had more than 49, 000 miles i would sell it i bought it 3000 the stereo would blow an other wise good deal lol

holy shit: / did you took the time to read about sounds system before mastubating you in this video? at least drill a 1/3 HP(haut parleur in french) diameter in your sub box, you'll quite have bass reflex system. did you talk about impedence? I'm french, my I miss it but I think an important data to give in your video would be to say that most home stereo systems are 8Ohms built whereas car systems are 4 Ohms buit. if you plug the 8Ohm HP with a 4 Ohm Amplifier, you wont reach the nominal ratio power/quatily of the system. in this case you'll lose power. Now you think: anyway I can reach the max amplitude of the loudspeaker! yes but for twice the energy grrr.

actually this could had been done. quite properly.
first of all, use a real portable mp3 player. for real.
it will run on a regulator too, and you can play mp3 files, now ain't that a breeze?
allso, if you hook up a regulator. please at least check the datasheet, they need a small cap from input to ground, and one from output to ground. don't be a phoooool.
2nd, don't cut the bass box. you reduced the volume, and ruined it.
most hi-fi boxes are tuned far lower than car audio.
around 40-60 hz, meanwhile in a home hi-fi we tend to aim far less for -3dBL point.
so it could had sound quite decent i guess.

Entertainment value, 10/10. Actual function, 2/10. I probably have an ACTUAL car cd that won't skip every time you hit a bump, an amp, some old factory speakers from a commodore and a 12 sub lying around in my shed that I will sell you 50. Then you can have a real stereo!
P. S. For anyone actually thinking of doing this, if you hang around your second hand store enough they will severely reduce old audio gear. I bought a sub and amp once for 30, and if you add a set of speakers and an MP3 player you have a car stereo.

Entertainment value, 10/10. Actual function, 2/10. I probably have an ACTUAL car cd that won't skip every time you hit a bump, an amp, some old factory speakers from a commodore and a 12 sub lying around in my shed that I will sell you 50. Then you can have a real stereo!

When I brought my car I installed a stereo, as I got further into the project I came across an old extension lead that really didn't go any where and a fuse box with nothing running to it. Now I see this, it all makes sense. Oh yeah, thanks to the dickweeds that stripped out my car before I brought it. I imagine the previous own had some good and some bad mods, but did you have to cut all the wiring for the electric mirror control and such.

I got my whole audio system for like 20
I got free 6x9s from a friend, I found free Sony stereo system speaker boxes out the back of the salvation army, I got a 10 inch Panasonic sub from a recycled shit store for 5 half price, and I got a JVC head unit with usb and aux and CD for 15 at cash converters. It goes up to 25 if you count the black spray paint I used to make it look sleek in the boot of my Bluebird. All I need now is an amp.

Sorry guys you weren't the first, this is how my cd player worked when I was 12, 14 years ago as I couldn't afford a hifi. I got an external scsi drive from a swap meet for a couple of dollars and an old 4x creative cd-rom which output to an amp that came off a verge. No doubt I wasn't the first either. Later I upgraded to a 3 cd stacker with a remote, good times.

haha you had me going there when you said you were the first to come up with the idea of using a desktop CD drive for a stand-alone audio playback device, then you called it the ipod. LOL that was funny. Yeah, I remember back in '99 reading online here in the US about how to wire one of those for the same concept. btw, that big ugly speaker should've been free; )
