How to Get your Car Ready for an Endurance Race (and not blow up) aserta: Needs a kill switch in a recessed hole in the rear of the car. In case of a crash and roll over (knock on wood, that's one of the few places of a car where regardless of how it ends up, a rescue can reach and shut the power. They sell adapters that you screw in a hole you make in the boot lid (kinda looks like a small dog dish bowl. I highly recommend having one. it's one of those better to not need it, than need it and not have it.

It is my understanding that you can only offset the initial purchase price, not any investments you've made into the car. The following is a quote from section 4 of the rules:
4. 7 Scavenger Sales: If you sell pieces off of your car, the money that comes back in can be used to offset the initial purchase price. (This only applies to stuff that counts toward the 500 total; the sale of exempt items like wheels, glass, interior trim, etc. can NOT be used to offset the initial purchase price) Just be prepared to convince some exceedingly skeptical judges of the validity of all those transactions.

Hey Chris! I'm Alex I'm the Israeli guy that you greeted at the Lemons Race!
I just want to thank you again man, I just keep telling the story of how great it was to be there and be a part of it all!
I loved everything, and I just want to say something I forgot lol
I have the same exact Tattoo on my index finger of your LOGO!
Great video man, appreciate it again. Can't wait for the next one

If every little bit of drag counts you could tape the car body gaps if rules allow it. Gaps, transfers from plastic to metal, glass to metal, everything. That plastic window you installed has rubber seal around it, and then goes from rubber to metal. Air will hit every bump, every gap, so tape it down, make it an even surface, it wont help you a lot but it will reduce some drag. Oh, yes, and good luck

Thank you for this chris! We are preparing our own lemons car so it's so cool to watch. Only question though, in the rules it doesn't look like you have to remove the rear windows? Obviously lexan would be nicer but I just want to make sure for my team's sake that we don't actually have to remove the rear windows, just the front. Thanks!

Could cut springs to tighten her up and lower it a bit, also putting vents in the rear of the front fenders should help get the lift and drag out of the wheel wells that should help a lot. they also have foglight deletes that work as a brake duct to keep them cool and can be super cheap same for headlight intakes for colder air and such

500 my A When torquing the nuts, push down rather than pull up. Better for your body and less likely to knock the car off the jack stands. Also, Think about it. 25ft/lb to up the studs in, but like 90 ft/lb to mount the wheels? one of these things is no like the other. Bet those studs pull out or break off.

I don't know why but punch-list style videos are so satisfying to watch. I guess it's just the rapid fire getting shit done nature of them. Hours of work boiled down to a few minutes. The car looks awesome, can't wait for the race video, although that line about the gas pedal was pretty ominous.

I just saw fab rat's video on this race yesterday! Cannot wait for your race! Thank you for all you have taught me Chris. I recently replaced the head gasket on my diesel van's 285k motor. Couldn't have done it without the stuff I've learned from you. Thanks for everything, ROAD TO 10 MIL!

Well i got two things in my head for the windows. I would use some sort of see through plastic and for the driver's side i would make the plastic removable. So something like a hinge at the bottom and a pin to hold it at the top and when undone it rests against the door and yeah.

I am glad to hear that you have had good luck with eBay. As for me, I am unable to recommend them anymore and advise people to use caution. eBay has refused to help me with an issue with a seller in regards to a refund due to damaged parts. Just be ware.

Chris for the love of god please overfill the oil by a quart to prevent oil starvation. You could install a accusump, but considering it s a lemon build, just overfill oil by a quart, it s what bmw guys do when they take their car to the track.

Will switching the cutoff switch off while the engine is running fry the alternator? Especially at 3000 rpms? I get it in an emergency but seems like it wouldn't be a good habit to test.
