So that's how the battery to my car was stolen. Some theif left my hood popped open, and I wanted to understand how they did it. I now know how to do it, but is there anyway I can prevent them from getting to the wire. I was thinking of welding medal sheets to prevent them from tempering with the wires. Is there a better alternative you guys might reccomend? I've heard of the battery lock mechanism.

This is such a fool-proof way of making car related tutorials I love it. Went to check my first car yesterday and the used car tutorial helped a lot. Even though I know 'jack' about cars I actually knew where to look before deciding. On Monday I'm going to have the VIN and the diagnostics checked and might be buying: ) Thanks a lot Chris!

Hey Chris, I know this is an old video but I have a Toyota Solara with a finnicky hood latch. When just pulling the release, it has very little tension and nothing happens. If I have someone pry up on the hood a little while I pull the release, it will pop like normal. Should doing what you did in this video fix my issue?

I pulled my 86 pontiac hood latch and heard a pop, but when I went to look it there wasnt a gap. I think it was the rear lock of the hood latch/release

Chris make it look easy, I change my son car's old release cable for about 30 minutes, and for the good 25 minutes all you can hear is me cursing.

Hey Chris! When you attached release cable to the latch, did you go under the front end of the car or were you standing in front of the car?
