I've been using a variant of this technique for years and it works amazingly. But I will say that a fine steel wool has its place in the sequence; particularly if you have water spots. The glass is much stronger then the steel wool and will not scratch. I've been using it for years when detailing a really dirty window and its never left a scratch. I like to do it before the clay bar.

Hey, love the video.
Was just wondering, with this method, would you be undoing your own work if you put window wiper fluid into the mix? Would there be any point to adding anything but water to your window wiper reservoir?
Don't want to spend all morning doing this only to immediately stuff it up with wiper fluid.

I tried to follow this tutorial, and it worked pretty well except that the tiny nicks on the windshield could not be cleaned. After the cleaning, they become even more visible. Any tips on how to deal with them? Thanks!

Chris, after using this methode, and get rain, the water is dry, there is some dusty watermark. How to clean it but the windshield still have wax effect?

I would only add to use gloves, so the oils from my hands don't get on the towel. But I never thought of using a clay bar, or cleaning the wiper blades.

Do you have any idea to get rid of foggy winshield during rain without running AC? I had tried one liquid called rainx and it's horrible for night view.

will the clay bar help get off hard stuck particles on my windshield? It's a bunch of white and dark yellow spots that look like it could be dried bugs

I was told by worker at a parts store if you use a leather rejuvenator on wiper blades it will keep them from drying out and make them last longer
