It seems like the SLC AMG is worse than the prior generations SLK 55 AMG. It's a half second slower by the sound of it which is a shame because I expect it has less weight with the smaller engine. The engine also has more horsepower and torque than the v8. So what gives? Is it a difference in which RPMs it makes those numbers at? Is it the weight? The SLC is actually heavier to my surprise.
I have an R171 55 AMG and I can beat the time you hit on the SLC in this video.

AMG 45 was on my top 3 list of cars to buy--very fast for what it is. This video shows what it did in a dig to some of the fastest performance cars made--so it would destroy normal cars. I bought a stinger AWD and can tell you that its mid to top end would catch the AMg and it tops out about 5 MPH faster. The reliability is what threw me off and to extend the warranty was like 3 grand and still was only 7 years as opposed to 10 for the KIA.

Not sure what question is being asked here. Which car is best or which engine is best?
If you're talking engine the A45 doesn't even get a look in. Also the transmission/gearing weights are different so it's good to watch but a pretty pointless test.

Matt I bought an A45 after you won that drag race in 2013 with the CLS63. You were hopping and laughing like a little pixie. So much fun I had to have one. Loved it for the 4 year lease. Great on track at Philip Island too, consistent 1: 55s

I work at a Mercedes dealership and drive these cars for a living. I wish I could put my foot down and actually feel the power, but unfortunately, the customers wouldn't really like me doing that in their cars.

So the GT won the race, and the M5 beat the GT. Damn, Mercedes needs to step up it's game a little concerning the GT category since a salon car from BMW was able to beat it down

My 2018 CLA45 amg is catless stage 2, and there-s not much that beats me from a light in the town roads. 455hp/452tq. The launch is brutal.

Mhhh, that S65 is gorgeous. I love the massive amounts of chrome on that car. The new S coupes are a worthy replacement for the old CL line!
