Buick Enclave - Engine Light & TPMS Light On. I have found that regardless of brand name manufacturer from godd ole u. s. of a. The failure is component suppliers and the fecal material they make the component. Granted, the big three suffer from past sins of the union contract obligations and are economically forced to shop the lowest bidder. They know how to make it better, they can afford to.

I had 2 TPMS sensors replaced recently. They took almost 4 years to die. First they were slow to report in, and the first winter one would quit working below 20 F. Fast forward through 2 more winters and into this fall the failure temperature gradually increased until they didn't work below 60F. Of course my car is super friendly and blanks ALL 4 sensors if one isn't reporting in. I'll have the other 2 replaced the next time it cuts out or before next winter when I'll be due for service anyway. Local tire/front end place did both sensors for less than the dealer parts counter wanted for 1 sensor. I only checked with the dealer so I could laugh at their price.

Took longer to take off the beauty cover than it did to actually install the sensor. You reminded me I have to do the EVAP solenoid and my wife s discovery. Thankfully we live in a no inspection state but still I m tired of the money light coming on.
And I m convinced that the biggest feature of a TPMS sensor is to cost money.

Eric are those MX Sensors the same weight as the GM ones or do you have to rebalance the Wheels! I remember looking into them when they released them way back when but over here they were as expensive or more than the OEM GM style ones. The only upside to that would be you don't have to keep all the different Brands in stock!

Heard your lunch whistle, so much be time to fill the braces with food particles. Thanks for the easy tests for evap systems, My 05 Silverado loves to get new evap solenoids till I relocated it to the frame rail tube and closed the ends with shop towels as I live on dirt and rock roads it get gets filled pretty quick with dust.

I gotta say, my hygienist never told me nuttin bout brushing my to much or not enough. She always tell me I'm not flossing enough. I hate flossing! The gap between some of my teeth is so narrow you could check the tolerance on some of your thinner feeler gauges. Oops, sorry, TMI. My bad!

I had a reoccurring small evap leak in my 02 Town & Country that I could not track down. I put silicone grease around the fuel neck like E did in this video and I have not had the problem since.
I have got to get me one of those adjustable pry bars. I freaking love that thing.
Luv me sum SMA

Thank you, Eric, I'm changing out my temperature same unit on my 2012 5 l. And it's been a real nightmare because I'm gonna have to remove the intake. Manifold to get back there too. Because the area is so tilet. Me know what you have to do and you have to do one of these wonderful design from ford

Funny you should mention Standard motor parts. Today I did spark plugs on a 17 Chrysler Pacifica and needed a new coil boot nobody sells just the boot so I had to buy a complete coil, from O'Reilly's not a sponsor, which was in a standard motor parts box when I pulled it out it was a Mopar part.

Had tire pressure sensor go bad on my work truck, sometimes it would read correctly and other times it would read way high or not at all. Also had an evap code kept tripping on 2002 Dodge Ram. Checked all hoses and purge valve. Turned out to be a bad seal on the gas cap.

Love what the Acronym 'NAPA' really stands for Spit has been use to ease getting in to many Holes. Brand Mexico, ahead of Brand China in the Quality Lineup
Once your Teeth Cleaning Lady hears what you said, she will use a Wire Bruch on the Rear of your Tongue

I've got a question for Eric or anybody else. I just put four new tires on my car with four new TPMS sensors.
Had a little difficulty getting the tires to bead up.
Would using either (starting fluid) to set the bead damage the TPMS sensor

That is one very observant customer. The temperature gauge fluctuating is the sort of thing I would notice, but I'm convinced that hardly anyone really looks at the engine gauges, never mind noticing unusual fluctuations. Good eye, customer.

Very nice, I was surprised the the no code for un-commanded purge as well. I don't have a vacuum guage so I guess allowing it to suck water from a tube from a bucket on the floor would be good enough to prove the prove the valve is flowing.

The wonderful GM EVAP codes, almost as likely to occur as needing gas. At least the beautiful Mrs O made an appearance to brighten up the day. Just kidding, I love all your videos and helps get my mind off this pneumonia bug I m fighting.

In Europe I would always look for Bosch etc. OE Parts and just fit aftermarket only brands as a last resort, but in Eric s videos all I ever see is napa etc not the genuine OE brands that the auto makers use, what gives with that?
reply

I like how Eric doesn't always grab a electric or pneumatic tool to tighten a nut or bolt. I've seen the young guys quit what they're doing to find a power tool and by the time they find it they could have had the job done.

These car makers are all ways looking for ways to make the engine go bad wifes car was a ford edge till the water pump when out on her 45 min drive to work. PS it is inside engine so water will go there. Thanks for your time.

OEM parts. Took me a week to get a crank sensor from GM. The shop that sent it to me put 2 aftermarket sensors in it. It would run, then the tach would die and the crank time was long. Delco sensor cured the problem. ;)

Pretty sad you have to CYA on you tube. So many know it all s. If your safe and smart about things. Then there is nothing to worry about. However, there is always someone that will make a fuss out of things. Right Eric?
