it is not that you dislike aftermarket parts, nor the add on accessories; you dislike poorly done installs.
Turbo timers are a good thing for people who get on it and can't be arsed to let the car idle or take it easy before hitting home so the turbo can cool down. It has been a thing for decades, especially in sports cars. It can save someone from a very costly repair/replacement.
If it is done right, you'd barely know they've done anything at all; but those don't need repaired as much as the ones that get the fly by night shade tree special.
I'm sure if you were tasked to do a turbo timer or any other install; it'd be done properly as your standards are high. If you are going to do something, you do it correctly. Too bad all people don't take their job seriously; they are jokers while you are a professional.

I need to change my heater core, but I don't know exactly what parts to purchase online before-hand. With my heat on, I smell coolant in the cab but do not have any coolant on my passenger mat. So I am assuming it is a small leak, but the smell is horrendous. Also, I heard that spectra heater cores are not good? What was your experience with it? Also, what was the total cost of this job, including parts, so I know a ballpark number going into the project (labor and parts. I live in NY as well. I will on be changing heater core and evaporator, no blend doors. What evaporator and heater core would you recommend, 2002 dodge ram 1500 slt 4x4 4. 7l. Thank you, in advance.

There are a lot of comments so i cant really go through them all. but Im curious about all the doors. what they are called and where to get them. I think you said there were 4. but at one point i thought i counted 5. You said get some from doorman but not one of them. i basically have to do this exact same job. Heater core, condenser, and might as well do all the doors while Im at it. because the one i leave will be the one that breaks next year. Looking for a recommenced parts list if you have one handy. my truck is a 05 Ram 3500 with a Cummins. thanks

I had to remove the dash on my 95 Ford T-Bird. What a chore that was! The dash on that thing weighs a friggin ton! To add insult to injury, I also had to unscrew the climate box from the firewall, and tear into it with my Dremel, to yank out the leaky evaporator for a new one. Then, I had to buy cork tape to seal the dang box back up. Automotive engineers being d___ as usual; sealing the evaporator into a plastic box! What an idea!

Help! I cant get a straight answer on my 04 Ram. I can switch between all vents fine, BUT i need hot air out of all of them--i only have hot air at defrost vents--dash panel and floor are cool air! SO--which door is bad and what is the exact name for it? THANKS

Its true, aftermarket isnt always the way to go. Budget wise/band aid fix. Manufacturers have strict quality control with applications on hand. If anything remanufactured. Aftermarket seems to be made with dimensions in mind without yet real world RnD

4 of my 5 blend doors are working correctly. Very rare to get the hot air to come in. They want 850. 00 to take dash off and then charge for parts to fix on top of that. Does that seem reasonable? FYI, Steve Rob sent me one of your shirts, lol.

never have known anyone who would buy a dodge let alone pay big money to repait heater ac box. test drove a dodge pickup in 1973 opened glove box before even offf lot door fel on floor walked away learned 45 years ago about chrysler, THE END

I'm a new fan. but just completed the replacement of all 5 blend doors and heater core on my 05 Ram with no issues or 'you didn't show THAT in the video! moments. Eric, you're the man! Thanks for making these videos.

I think you were very proficient and professional. I did the same change out on my 1995 dodge intrepid. It was well worth it. I'm thinking about doing the same to my ram. Thanks for good work. I'd refer you.
