Thank you so much for your videos. I have been searching for information on a similar situation. A 1989 Mercury Tracer just died while driving. Sometimes it would re-start for a few seconds and die again. I tested the Coil for spark and nothing 'till I shut the key off. If I turn the key from run to off I get the one spark at the end.
But for that vehicle it's approx. 240. 00 for a new ignition switch. Is it possible to run a hot wire from the battery to a toggle switch and then to the Positive Terminal on the Coil? Then flip the switch before cracking over the engine?

After watching this video we replaced Ignition Switch on 2001 Jimmy, still have same problem. (Cranks but won't always start) Can get it to start after 6 tries but sometimes won't start and wears battery down. We charge the battery for an hour and starts right up. But then we go through the same problem again. Now we are trying to start in Neutral instead of Park and starts faster, maybe 2-3 tries but then sometimes won't start before battery gets low. Could it be the Park/Neutral Safety Switch? Any suggestions?

So I've change the ignition switch and when I'm done being sick I'm going to try the distributor. I am getting spark at the coil, little bit but not a lot of slop in the distributor. Anything else you might be able to recommend? Basically I drove it home from my sons on Christmas Eve and then the next day it just wouldn't start. Didn't have any issues before no weird actions, surges or anyting like that just flat-out wouldn't start the next day. It cranks but it doesn't fire.

Ok so I pulled the little spark plug looking wire from the optispark that goes to the coil and turned the motor over and I have fire using a test light. ok so I replaced the plug wire back in to the optispark and I pulled the front drivers side spark plug wire and placed the test light in the plug wire and turned the motor over and the test light wouldn't light up. would you say the optispark has gone bad?

Saturday May 23, 2020. after replacing fuel pump, relays, fuses, fusebox, coil packs and even ECM. Found your video and IT WORKED THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Ran out by buying all unnecessary parts. so I'm running with a hot wire hanging out lol. I APPRECIATE the wiring diagram. Colors helped out a lot since I was trying to guess

Im having a similar problem with my 2002 S10 2. 2L auto, and I dont have a clue what it could be. It was idling when all of sudden it shut down, and it wont start again. The instrument cluster turns on, but when I try to start it, it nothing. Any help and advice will be appreciated. Thank you!

I appreciate how you explain the steps and procedures, can you give me some advice on my 03 Sonoma 4. 3 it cranks but no signal to the fuel pump or fuel level sensor, I just replaced the fuel pump, but same thing, could it be the camshaft sensor? I appreciate your reply in advance

Got a question. i went to start a 1999 blazer 4. 3l n it attempt to crank a quarter of a turn but that is it like something's stuck on the crankshaft. ive just did a throttle body cleaning n fuel pressure regulater replacement. any idea's?

Hey I have a similar issue on a 2000 chavy blazer fuel pump sounds like it's running cranks and cranks sometimes without starting and then sometimes it start first try no problem at all and the only code popped up was po420
