I am not too sure about the GT3 RS. It is a brilliant car no doubt about that, I am a huge fan. That said, all the other cars listed did something, changed something about how we think about cars. The GTI is a prime example. It was the first of a whole new, and now huge market of small yet fast family cars.
The GT3 RS is just -another- lightened version of an already fast car. It has been done so many times before. The Porsche is brilliant, but not unique.

This film that Clarkson have made -2 series ago- with Aston as a main character to support the idea of -cool-cars will be dead soon. - is a little peace of masterpiece, and I'm affraid he is right!

It is just their latest best version of the 911, but what about the day the next GT3 RS hits the road? Will we remember this one? I strongly doubt it.
Why do they have the Mark 1 GTI and not the new one? The old one is hardly faster or better is it? But it was a car that started something new. A leap forward.
Porsche has made fast and exclusive versions of the 911 for ages.

but the f1 held the top speed record of 244mph for more than a decade i think im not completly sure about that. but I rather take a MacLaren F1 over a Veyron anyday. I dont like going bandwagon and the F1 is pretty rare seen as they made on 106 of them compared to all the veyrons. I've seen 7 different veyrons so far. I have onlt seen one beautiful MacLaren F1 since they came out. ONE and I will always remember it

I love simplicity of it, and genius design (function should create design, not the other way, as we see on almost every modern car - fancy gadgets, new-fasion collors won't cover ugly car-body-sculpture. :)
Porsche is a classic, . sort of -boring-, but still a great car.
Good, they dind't try to put nouvo-riche Por$che Cajen or Panamejra. :)

People who say the gt3rs doesn't belong in the list of cars here, because it didnt do something significant for automotive history, clearly did not drive one, because it really changes the way a car can handle a track, this car handles better then everything i've driven! it changes the way a car can communicate with it's driver, and thats why its listed between the other cars!

-Qnickel27 Its the5 greatest cars tested in the last 100 years. That doesn't necessarily mean that they need to include a car made in 1911. And although the original M5 was brilliant, the E-Type to this day remains the best looking car ever made in the eyes of many thousands if not millions and in terms of car design it was what Concorde is to a Cessna 182 (back in the 60s.

Clarkson also put Golf GTI very high on his best-cars-list.
First proper hot-hatch, and very good from the start! . next generations couldnt repeat it's golden recepie. simple, elegant and honest. (what car today can match it? . maybe Clior RS )
You could probably relace this Golf only by equally great Peugeot 205 GTI.

I disagree objectively with your opinion that the beetle is somehow better than the Mini. I think the Mini is better looking, but the Mini does more with less. It's faster, handles better and is simply easier to service.
I love my dad's E-Type, and I'll take the prettier fast car when neither can handle a corner stock.
