The new 2015 smart fortwo has a four foot tighter turning radius than the IQ. It now also comes standard with either a true manual transmission or a standard automatic transmission. It also comes with something called Side Assist that helps with cross winds. And lastly the battery is now much easier to get to.

you can't help it. what do you think they just go down to the show rooms and pick out the cars they want for the test? they ring up toyota and smart respectively and they have to make due with what press cars they sent over.

IQ = 3 seats & 4th seat as a boot
Smart = 2 seats & a boot
I have driven both. Don't like the gear changing on the Smart and really like the comfort and performance of the 1. 3lt 6 speed IQ

I've owned 2 Toyota's, my current being a Hilux 2. 5lt D4D and the last one a Hilux 2. 8lt. They both are/were extremely reliable. I would expect the IQ to be very reliable as well.

-hites05 the Smart car diesel can achieve 89mpg, much more than the 65mpg of the Toyota. And then you have Mercedes customer service and reliability

The IQ is the only little car that I really like. It looks great, I wonder how it will look in the states though next to SUVs and huge sedans

I don't know why they thought it would be a good idea to sell it over there, even with the narrow roads of the UK I don't see many!
