This is the Bugatti Tourbillon, the 276mph successor to the Bugatti Chiron. There will be just 250 of these, priced from 3. 2m, making it the most expensive car in series production. Its engine is a massive 8. 3-litre V16, naturally aspirated, and producing 986bhp in its own right. You can hear it in this video. Rather than turbochargers, it's supplemented by three electric motors, two on the front, one at the rear, supplying an additional 789bhp. The performance figures are startling. The Bugatti Tourbillon will go from 0-62mph (0-100kph) in 2. 0sec and 0-124mph (0-200kph) in sub 5. 0sec. The Tourbillon's top-speed is preliminarily reported as 276mph, although Bugatti's CEO Mate Rimac says let's just say this isn't the maximum. Join Autocar's Jonny Bryce as he talks you around the outside and inside of the new Tourbillon, and lets you hear the howl of that V16 engine. And join us over at www. autocar. co. uk for more details again. And you can find the entire Autocar archive over at www. themagazineshop. com/autocar

nice exterior design, especially the rear. The interios is weird though. This whole swiss watch style is a bit over the top and very distracting to use as an odo. Much prefer the interior of the Chiron over this. The egine is nice but with 1000hp quite unspectacular for todays hypercars. Especially when Cosworth(also involved here) already did around 1000hp at 6, 5l for the AM Valkyrie. They might just go for increased engine longevity/less frequent service intervals compared to more hardcore focused competition.

250 units, 3. 2 mil per unit, all sold out to a grand total of 800 mil.
Which other business on Earth earns the money before even production
Yes this is a fact, Buggati was paid 800 mil by rich buyers of the world just by showing them demo car model and a presentation on their concept design. And after that the production was started!
So anyone of you thinking, Ahh i would have bought it if i knew about it, No you couldn't have even if you had known about it, these cars were purchased before even being created!

Tourbillon What Did they run out of French racing drivers to name their cars after
I wouldn't call it ugly unlike some but it doesn't seem to be a big stylistic departure over the Chiron in the same way the Chiron was to the Veyron.
The industrial designer in me appreciates the subtle changes they made over the outgoing car. Much of ID is actually like that. The result is they've successfully liposuctioned a lot of the visual fat of the Chiron (and Veyron. It now looks properly svelte and sleek. I like-y.

We might lost the quad turbo w12 to electric motors because of yet again some regulations.
But holy hell, they made sure this exchange is not a loss for ICE enthusiast.
So they made the V16 Naturally Aspirated with a boost from the electric motors.
I’d say it’s generally the fairest trade ever made during car company’s transitioning from ICE to electrification.
Well done Bugatti Rimac.

The Buggati Tourbillon's exterior design is disappointing compared to the Bugatti Chiron. After eight years, the team created this dreadful exterior design. The Buggati Devo's exterior design is significantly better than the Tourbillon's, and after eight years, this is how they improved the interior designit's literally the same.

I like the front, I like the interior. I don't like the fact the rear is a copy of a McLaren with an angular diffuser bolted on that makes it look like a 4x4.
I'm sure I'll get used to the sound but so far it's a bit like a wood saw.
The name is also awkward - it's a car, not a watch

What’s amazing is that it actually is going the current and opposite direction to most supercars, whilst it is using hybrid it also is taking naturally aspirated to the max, it’s a car that is both a through back to the 1930’s and also leading the way! I can’t rap my head around it.

If you can afford and own a Chiron Pur Sport there is no need to upgrade to this carApart from the gullwing doors and facelifted front end and of course the electric motors this is very familiar.
And yes im nitpicking, but when you’re paying 4m for a new hyper car then its not

For me as a lifetime Ferrari fan, this is just mind blowing. A glorious NA V16 engine revving up to 9. 000 rpm. This might be even better than the compressor blown BRM V16 from the 1950s in terms of acoustics. Well maybe not as loud. But brutal and yet smooth.
reply

lol they finaly admited a W16 is futile to start with
appart from the reason most of the 1700 gayrons (with a bodykit & tune) where sold:
i've got the biggest. engine swaffeling

reply

This is so sick
Kinda look like the Chiron from the front lights and body too and looks like the 18$ million bugatti la voiture noire from its tale lights
Absolutely mind boggling.

reply

The watch name and mechanicals on show all over the place like the dials is cheap and tacky. The outside is sleeker than the dumpy Veyron and Chiron, but that's not saying much.

But NGL V16 engine with No turbo at all sounds disappointing AF
Whenever i hear NaTurALLy AssPiRaTEd i just roll eyes and look down in the abyss of lameness and disappointment

reply

I’m surprised that it really doesn’t sound very good. It’s kind of flat and kind of shrill. I’d much rather to listen to an older Audi or Lamborghini V10.

Officer: Do you know what speed you were doing Sir
Driver: Well the big hand was at about quarter past three and the little hand was at ten to twelve, so.

The nose is awkward, but the rest is incredible. The engine and interior are genius. The dance the four needles do is at first confusing then excellent.
reply

Incredible car, well done Bugatti! I cant help but think what would quad turbos add to the already insane acceleration. 0 - 200mph in a few seconds!
reply

Probably the most hideous and childish instrument cluster ever made. More is not always more.
The nouveau riche chavs lap it up.

reply

Never seen needles like that. Taking a little longer to get used to the proportions. The mechanical interactions are inspiring.
