The problem with this generation Rogue is the reputation of the old one, and yes we don't know the reliability rate of the VC-Turbo. BUT, I honestly feel like its the best all-around option in this class. sized right, great tech, decent power and fuel economy for a fully-ICE powertrain and the interior is incredibly nice and I would say only second to the Mazdas. People scoffed at MotorTrend for ranking it as their number one pick in their comparisons, but outside of the question mark of reliability, it really is a better executed product than the Rav4 and CRV. The RAV4 is so cheap inside (didn't fix that on the new gen either) and Honda is very prideful with their pricing in relation to feature content. But, I get it, reliability is a huge thing and you have people who say their Rogue is fine and has been great and then you have the Nissan techs who say I've seen so many of these blow up, blah blah blah. Once the stigma fades, people will realize Nissan products have come a LONG way. This gen Rogue deserves the sales of the last gen.

I had been renting a Rogue for the past 3 weeks, the VC turbo is arguably one of the worst powertrains I've ever driven. Worse fuel economy than some V6s, either hanging out at max RPM or barely on at all. I was really disappointed because I have previously driven the 21 Rogue and it was such a downgrade. The other night I was driving and hit a hole in the road, the entire dash became a Christmas tree. I did some research on Rogue forums and found most owners had huge warranty repairs before 15k miles and mine was at 40k. I had to take the Rogue back yesterday and I was given a 23 Tuscon to finish my rental time. The Rogue I had wasn't a base model and the Tuscon is a much nicer car. I definitely understand why Nissan said the Rogue was lighting their money on fire.

At 47k, I would take a Murano or Pathfinder. Those models also give you a better powertrain. The Murano has a lot of inventory so I'm thinking the dealers will also give you a good discount. Still, the refreshed Rouge is a nice looking vehicle IMO. As far as pricing against the RAV4, Toyota dealers love to add a 'market adjustment fee' along with all the dealer add's, both of which add thousands to the price of the vehicle.

Stay away from this car. You are better off with a CR-V or RAV4. Jatco was horrible. Saving a few bucks is now costing Nissan a bankruptcy. The 3-cylinder is less reliable than the 2. 5 liter 4-cylinder. We have had 6/7 Nissan / Infiniti cars and right now the only cars I would recommend from them is 2021 pathfinder with the 9 speed transmission or the 2025 Armada / QX80. We might be getting the 2025 Armada pro4x soon.

It is a Nissan. I just made a mistake by purchasing a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder. I thought it had a reliable V6 engine and a finally ZF automatic. What can go wrong But, Nissan managed to build unreliable vehicle anyway. I've already had 2 repairs done due to electrical problems, engine light signs, and reduced power. Please don't make the same mistake and stay away from Nissan, especially with this over-engineered engine.

It doesn't matter what CR has to say about 2024, a car company with a reliability and quality recent past like Nissan's transmission should not be trusted with a large chuck of your money! Don't be gas lit with self driving or touch screens, despite being Japanese, Nissan is a world away from Toyota or Honda.

Previous version's I4 engine was a near bulletproof. CVT they finally kind of figured out (not to say a regular torque converter automatic would be better) but that new variable compression engine is trash. Loads of Infinities and newer Rogues are waiting on parts and new engines due to failures.

I'm glad you got to the cvt at 1: 02 because that's the end of the video. Don't even watch further. Everything else is an ad for nissan because there's 0 reason to buy anything with said transmission. There's only so much lipstick you can put on a pig before you really just need to get rid of the pig

Yeah you nailed it. Really Nissan You STILL don't have a hybrid option for us. No hybrid, no thank you. If they paired this sweet sounding 3 cylinder with a hybrid, it will be a good efficient people carrier for most American families!

Its platform mate, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, is far superior mechanically and feature-wise.
Good luck getting Optimus Subprime to do strict oil changes at 10k mi. Nissan recommends every 10k mi and even that's too long.

New Rogue are way overpriced. I looked at it in December before picking Santa Fe Hybrid Limited. A Rogue Platinum would have costed more even after discounts (Hyundai gave me $4300 off the Santa Fe, be an older model, and not hybrid

Good on nissan for offering propilot assist on this, nice to commute with. I still can't get over that little half black/half painted trim to blend the kick up trim from the window to the fender & A pillar, it looks so odd!

Nissan, why the VCT 3 cylinder engine otherwise, looks like a very nice car. I owned a 2015 Nissan Rogue SL and I really liked it but the new 3 cylinder turbo engine is a failure waiting to happen.

Nice packaging, questionable company, you can keep that CVT, and that engine has known issues. I don't have high highway fuel economy hopes for e-POWER if it ever shows up in North America.

That 3cyl cvt combo puts it in the bottom of the pack INSTANTLY.
In a world where some are making 236hp STANDARD with NA HYBRID power, while getting 37-43mpg, this is just pathetic.

The CVTs have been upgraded multiple times over the years. They've been mostly trouble free sive 2020. I deliver more Tacoma transmissions than Nissan CVTS.

The reliability of the VC-turbo engines are yet to be proven. It's astounding they haven't borrowed the PHEV powertrain from the Outlander for the Rogue.
