Bus fare, drinks, food, everything is cheaper starting just a few feet off the Strip. While this might not be considered scammy, I consider it gouging. Buy your bus passes at a local grocery store like Albertsons or on a bus that intersects the Strip. Paid rides cost more when you're going TOWARDS the Strip. Get wasted at a local night spot off the Strip. Pours could be heavier if you're friendly and tip well; Strip bartenders are all in a union and do not care about you. There's several grocery stores, dollar stores, etc. within blocks of the Strip. You might as well get some groceries and booze there if you're doing more than a day in Vegas. All food and drink options are marked up on the Strip. A rising scam is attractive women approaching men at a bar. A few drinks and you end up waking up back at your room without your things. Happened to me. Happened to the guy next to me in the police station when I was giving my statement. Very common. Pawn shops. Seriously, if you have something you think is worth anything, sell it on eBay!

My wife and I just got back from a couple of days in Vegas. We stayed at the MGM grand. For three nights my total was 260. When I went to check in, $560. It was refunded a couple of days after we got back and $260 was the total, That to me is the worst scam of all. A pack of peanut M&M from the mini bar? $15. Also, Walgreens and CVS are both still expensive (on the strip. If you can, go to a gas station or somewhere else OFF of the strip. Vegas is fun, don't get me wrong. Just some things aren't always as they seem.

We got long hauled by a taxi going back to our hotel from a strip joint. I knew how long it took to get there from our hotel, so on the cab ride back I noticed he was driving us past our hotel at a distance. I called him on it and said where the hell are you going i see our hotel way back there! He didn't even try and dispute it, and said oh no problem buddy, I'll even take $15 off the meter, no worries sir lol. Guess he figured we were to drunk and wouldn't notice.

It amazes me that some Uber drivers try and take you the long route when you can get the proof on your phone. Send that to Uber and you get your money back. If enough passengers do that on a regular basis the drivers might learn that it is not worth them trying to scam. When the driver asks so how many times have you been to Vegas? he is assessing if he can scam you.

las vegas water sports. they are scammers. you must book online, not acceptable in person, but they cancel anytime for any reason and wont refund you. Can't buy tix at location. That should scream scam. I had to get my credit card company to get involved. You can't talk to anyone either only text.

The number one scam in Vegas is casino gambling. The house has a mathematical edge on every game.
Vegas was built by losers.
Money men bought most of the Vegas casinos on the Strip. They went into debt for billions of dollars, so how do they get out of that debt. scamming the visitors.

For buffets, go 30 minutes before the dinner buffet starts, have one plate then sit there and socialize until the items switch from the lunch to the dinner buffet. This will allow you to pay the lunch buffet price for the dinner buffet, and save you $10 and up.

Avoid resort fees by staying just off strip. Plenty of chain hotels like Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, Courtyard Marriott are great. Only a few minutes from the strip via Uber or some even have shuttles to strip and airport (COVID may impact availability.

Some of the biggest scams are the Casino games themselves, you play a Casino game, only play for purposes. The 2nd scam are Strip clubs, you stay away from them because the $800 you brought to the trip will be gone in under an hour to sophisticated ways.

Screw the resort fees. We don't go to Vegas to swim or workout. Shit, we are hardly in our rooms. Resort fees are the biggest racket going in the hotel industry especially LV. I for one will not stay in a hotel that charges resort fees.
