I'm orginally from the midwest but Des Moines, Iowa. I live in Nashville, Tennessee right now this year in January 2022 and have been for 18 years since 2004, but 4 months from now in the beginning of May 2022 I'm gonna move to Kansas City, Missouri to live with the other half of my family and my other parent, my dad after I finish my Sophomore year of college. I've never met my dad and the other half of my family before and they've been living there in Kansas City the whole time. He wants me to come over there and experience Kansas City, Missouri with him and the other half of our family. So hopefully I will and don't regret moving there I figured after 18 years of living in Nashville, Tennessee since 2004 after leaving Des Moines, Iowa, it's time for me to come back to the Midwest again but not Iowa this time, Missouri. I can't wait to go to Kansas City Chiefs home games and go to Worlds of Fun as well as other entertaining places and have that good experience of living in a popular American city in the midwest that's more popular than Nashville, Tennessee in the southeast.

I can confirm union station is the most gorgeous train station known to man. and it is B I G. and personally my favorite part is the train set room with the big dioramas. and Christmas there is even better. I remember one year when I was like, five years old we were outside and there was this big Christmassy train. and at that time I believe fox news was going around and talking about the event and the happened to pick me and asked why I was here. I smiled with my two missing front teeth and said because me like choo choo train. I don't remember much after that though.

My hubby and I lived in Independence for 2 months in 2010. We wanted to live there longer but had unforeseen circumstances we moved back to our old state. You are right about how friendly the people are. At the time my hubby was at his job for a month there and we didn't have any where to go for thanksgiving. His boss was having a huge thanksgiving at her house and invited us to it! everything was amazing! We are looking to back there this year.

KC is not I repeat IS NOT a taxi city. Taxi drivers do not know where anything is at if its outside a 5 mile radius of downtown. We are not like New York or Chicago. Public transit is not that good. You need a car pretty much to live here. We have no Subway, a minor bus system. we have a trolli that goes nowhere lol. The trolly pretty much takes you from one shopping center to another. just a few miles. You need to rent a car or use Uber.

the saddest part is that they ripped out the mall and movie theater at the plaza for a parking lot. and if you want the best BBQ, get out of the city, there's Kearney's Mudhole, there's 24 highway Independence BBQ joint, Avoid smokehouse, overpriced and crap.

I have to say the Plaza wasnt always corporate retail, like the Gap and Barnes & Noble. 20 years ago there were a lot of independently owned stores and local restaurants. Rent prices pushed them out, so we ended up with national chains instead.

I'm currently in Lisbon Portugal, but I will likely be moving here soon. Have decided to go back to school and I have no friends here, no one wants to talk to me and no job opportunities. Originally from NYC

I'm really impressed by how well you learned the city while you were here. If I had to make a list like this I probably would have made the exact same list, and I've lived here my entire life.

Public transportation takes up a lot of your time. Gee, that's the case everywhere no matter how they improve mass transit. Shared taxis are a better idea than buses for places like KC.

2: 38: When Kansas City expanded, it was designed around an awesome public transport system. This no longer exists, which is why it's such a pain to get around today.
