I lived in Iceland for over 3 years. The Sulfur smell is because HOT water isn't heated > actually held and cools. it is thermal heated and that is the natural smell > you can take a 18 month long non stop shower and the water Temp never changes. the drinking water is among the purest on planet earth. Summer > anything over 50 is warm > seldom hits 60. windy > yep. The weather never stops you from doing something > is no such thing as too bad of weather. actually Iceland isnt that cold in winter. but it is windy. Cheapest meal is Icelandic Hot-Dogs > SS pylsur

To respond to the negatives:
1) We booked the Blue Lagoon the day before, no problem
2) The water doesn't smell at all
3) I would imagine everybody realizes they are going to Iceland and the weather isn't like the Bahamas
4) We went in October (high season for Winter/Northern Lights) and easily got a room
5) It is expensive - the only thing which is right here
The only thing to hate is not being there right now

I love Reykjavik in the winter. I was one week there, over x-mas, and the worst day was the first day, because it was thaw. The rest of the week it was pretty cold.
Some years later i was on a cruise and we had a stop nearly one and a half day at Reykjavik. It was warm and the day was long. In the winter, at x-mas, you have light between 11: 00 and 15: 00 clock.
Four hours light. Wonderfull.

Yes, Iceland is expansive. But if you are in Reykjavik, you can go to the BSI, this is the main bus station where you reach, if you com from the Airport near Kevlavik. There is a nice Bistro where you can get possibly delicious food. You can get to the Caruso, a Restaurant in Reykjavik. I wouldn't say that the food is expensive.

I don't quite know where to start. My family and I took a 4-5 day vacation in late November in Iceland. We had a great time. Went to the Blue Lagoon as well as many waterfalls on the Golden circle. Our tour guide David was fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to go back soon.

I love Iceland. Every part of it. Ive been twice. Its a gorgeous place. The water is perfect. The wind is delicious. The snow is loveable. The landscapes are out of this world. If you dont like the cold, wear warm clothes! After all it is near the North Pole!

Been there on June 2014. very nice country, but the weather can be very extreme even on Summer. and it was soooo expensive. looking at the list outside restaurants in town. one steak. was about 60! Outside Reykjavik prices were more reasonable.

The first thing you can do is to learn how to pronounce, even approximately, Reykjavik. and spell 'sulphur' (or 'sulphur') correctly. Simply don't go to the Blue Lagoon, there are plenty of hot pots, and cheaper, all over the country.

I know this video is from 6 years ago, but whenever I hear Wreck-ya-vikk, I feel sick.
Please, ask people how to pronounce the names of places. Icelanders are good in English so it shouldn't be hard

Going to the blue lagoon is also very expensive. The food was outrageously expensive when I was there. Iceland has to be the most beautiful place I have ever been to. The views are absolutely outstanding!
