Youi can buy belts that are TSA compliant, the buckles are made of plastic. Also be aware that when you are flying to the US the US government has agreements with many countries which allows it to operate security pre-clearance. If you have a stop over you may have to go through pre-clearance before boarding the flight that takes you to the US. Lines can be horrific. If you're lay over is only 2 hours or less do not dawdle, go straight to the pre-clearance. If you're not a US citizen you might even consider giving yourself more than 2 hours time becuase there will be a separate line for non-citizens and the time required to get through pre-clearance will be even longer.

Also, if they say your flight is delayed due to weather and the weather at your current airport is nice and full of sunshine remember that weather is REGIONAL. If you're flying from Arizona to Florida between June and November it might be nice and sunny in Phoenix but there's a hurricane in Orlando. Airplanes can't land in a hurricane. ALSO if the weather is nice and sunny in both airports there might be a big wall of storms BETWEEN your airports that airplanes can't fly though and it shrinks our already packed airspace thus reducing capacity.

American airports specifically JFK is a pile of shit I've been to better airports in Africa. You go through security take half your cloths off for security which is fair enough but then don't give you anywhere to get dressed again. ok airports you go through security take half your cloths off then guess what they have stations where you can go to just after security sp you can get dressed and re pack your carry on is it that hard America

last Christmas i took a flight to Charlotte nc from boston ma i got to my gate it was 20 minutes from depart time i notice the gate i was at had a flight to another city at the same time it was so post go take to nc so i ask the gate person he told me its at another gate and i remember this video lucky the wrong gate was the same airline i was flying with i got the info and ended up on the right gate didn't mist my flight

I worked as a customer service representative for an airline for 2 years, you have no idea how many people yell at you for not being able to control everything. I was on the verge of a psychotic break for most of my time at that job! People need to be more respectful to the people who are doing their best to help them and doing what their boss tells them to do!

On international flights one needs to take note of the changing time zones. I once missed my flight at Istanbul airport because I kept referring to my wrist watch which was set to Italy time. I had to rebook another flight which left after 30 hrs.
It would've been better if I had depended on my cellphone for time since it autocorrects to the local time.

And even if I get through security with two hours to go before boarding time, I still find my gate first, and then go eat or whatever. Dont go to a restaurant or bar or lounge and relax until half an hour before your flight and suddenly realize your gate is harder to find or get to than you assumed it would be.

We almost missed our flight because of a gate change. We checked when we got to the airport but it changed while walking to the gate. There was a weather delay so we didn't think anything of it, glanced at the screen and realized it wasn't our flight listed. We got to the gate just as they started boarding!

My tip is, make sure your layovers are at least 2-3 hours long. One time my airplane was an hour late and I ran faster than I ever ran to get to my gate from domestic to international at Ohare and got there one minute before they closed the gate. Make sure your layover at least 2 hours!

The dont be late comment is the most important. I dont get why people dont get to the airport at least a few hours early. When you go through security you can have a meal and do plenty of stuff with your time. Theres no reason to not be there a few hours early.
