Get the Merach Novarow R50 Rower Official Site (Use code ALAIN for a discount): Amazon: As we age, the legs are often one of the first muscle groups to lose strength. And the scary part isn’t that they get smallerwhich they willit’s that they get weaker faster than you realize, even if you stay active. In a well-controlled aging study on physically active adults, knee extension strength dropped by roughly 5% per year. In other words, you can use it and still lose it. You see, strong legs are what absorb force, stabilize your joints, and keep you on your feet when you miss a step, lose your footing, or have to react quickly. When leg strength drops, balance suffers, joints take more stress, and falls become more likely. That may not feel urgent right now, but falls are the leading cause of injury-related death in adults over 65. Even when a fall isn’t immediately fatal, it often triggers a rapid decline: reduced movement, accelerated muscle loss, and long-term disability. So while this might not feel like a problem today, leg strength is what protects your quality of life later. And that’s exactly what I cover in this video: 5 exercises every man over 40 should start doing now so you can keep up with your grandkids, stand up on your own, and handle daily life without becoming a burden to the people you love. As a 51 year old ex athlete. Although strength exercises are important, I’m finding multi movement strength exercises seem to be more and more key to my flexibility, general mobility and all round strength rather than static strength movements. Kettlebells, weighted vests & resistance bands with multi positional movements are great as I age.

I turned 58 years old on Tuesday, February 24. Had a hip replacement on my left side about five years ago. Leg weakness became very apparent a few years ago and it’s still a problem. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do give me luck lol

I always tell people, you can’t skip the Bulgarian split squats and do deficit lunges. Same muscle group and function without the awkward rear leg position. Bulgarian split squats is pretty overrated

Great informative video. Not to complain, but you and the other gentleman in the rower ad have poor rowing form, which isn’t good for selling that particular rower.
