17 USA Foods That are ILLEGAL in Other Countries

These American foods are BANNED in many other countries throughout Europe. Japan, Austria, and the Netherlands also ban many US foods because they have been deemed unsafe for human consumption. You are probably eating many of these foods. Watch this video and learn which unhealthy foods to avoid. When you grab a snack off the shelf the last thing you're thinking is that it's going to hurt you. Yet 6 out of every 10 Americans have at least one chronic disease, and The United States has one of the highest rates of cancer compared to other developed nations. While factors like obesity, and low activity levels, definitely play into this, there's no doubt that a lot of the foods that are sold and consumed in America are not good for our health. Although we have more food abundance than almost any other country in the world and even though our stores are lined with a seemingly endless variety of colorful, flavorful, foods and snacks, the overall health of the average American man and woman has continued to decline. Coincidentally many foods that sit on our shelves here in America are prohibited in other countries due to the use of ingredients deemed unsafe for human consumption. Recently RFK jr has shined a spotlight on the Food and Drug Administration and has vowed to crack down on foods and ingredients that he blames for much of the unhealthy state of Americans, including ultra-processed foods and food additives. So today I want to go over some foods, snacks, and ingredients that you may want to avoid or at least limit because they are already banned in many other countries. So first we have Swiss Rolls which contain certain ingredients that are banned in other countries but are in a ton of other American foods that I'm about to list off for you. Many of which you're probably eating because you just can't get away from these ingredients. I'm talking about synthetic food dies. Little debbie swiss rolls are banned in countries like Austria and norway due to their use of dyes, including Yellow #5, also known as Tartrazine and Red #40 also known as Allura Red. These dyes have been associated with hyperactivity in children and potential carcinogenic risks. European countries try to stay away from these synthetic dies and instead use natural coloring agents. On the other hand in the US these additives are allowed while requiring a disclaimer for potential adverse effects. The part that makes this worse is that tartrazine or yellow #5 is used in many other products other than just Swiss rolls. Almost any snack or packaged product that has a bright yellow or orange tint uses yellow #5. This includes Doritos, Cheetos, cheddar potato chips, Cheez-Its, yellow-colored sodas, many candies like M&M's, and even macaroni and cheese mix. (1) These foods are obviously heavily processed so it may not be that surprising to find them on this list but one food group that you're probably not expecting on this list is U. S. Meats and Dairy Products. That's right other countries don't want products that come from our factory farming methods. American meat and dairy products face bans in the EU and other countries due to the widespread use of growth hormones and antibiotics. Hormones such as rBGH are used in the U. S. to increase milk production in cows. However, in Europe, these hormones are banned due to concerns about their potential links to cancer and other serious health issues. Not only are these other countries fearful of chronic health risks but they are also worried about the overuse of antibiotics in livestock leading to antibiotic resistance. If other countries have banned U. S. meat and dairy imports it's definitely worth it to try to go for pasture-raised and grass-fed sources of meat and dairy which usually prominently display that they avoid the use of antibiotics and hormones right on the package. Next is Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew is one of America’s most popular sodas. And while this green-looking soda might taste great, it contains bromine which is a chemical also used in flame retardants. These chemicals reduce the flammability of materials, such as plastics, fabrics, and furniture. For example, brominated flame retardants also known as bfrs are added to electronics or household items to prevent fires from starting or spreading. While they serve an important safety purpose, chemicals like bromine have been linked to health risks such as hormonal disruptions, neurological issues, and potential damage to internal organs like the thyroid and liver. This is why Bromine is banned across Europe and Japan. Meanwhile, the FDA permits it to be used as a food additive while setting specific limits. Although the amounts used in drinks like Mountain Dew are considered low, cumulative exposure over a long time is a big concern for many regulatory agencies outside of the fda. And bvo is used in many other foods and beverages

I live in central europe. A friend brought me american foods when he visited, among them, ready-made flmaing hot cheetos style mac n cheese as well as some other snacks containing specifically the artificial dyes mentioned here.
I felt a sense of assiction from the mac n cheese like from no other substance I have ever consumed. I'm not sure which element exactly it was, but it actively felt insanely addicting. Even though I had almost immidiate massive stomach pain after eating just a few bites of the mac, I still wanted to keep eating, despite not even liking the taste that much.
Trying some of the other snacks with artificial dyes also made me hyper in ways I had not perceived before.
Just wanted to share this anecdotally.
(I shared the Mac with 3 other people who all felt the same and we made each other stop eating it to not harm ourselves more.
. or so I thought. The friend who's place it was ended up eating the leftovers for breakfast after all)

We don't have half the food options we had before the pandemic in the US.
Also, food availability has become an issue as well. For example, eggs have become an expensive food item. To make matters worse, the public school system has begun providing foods with lackluster nutrition. Public schools affect the majority of children in this nation. These are problems that when they go unaddressed will result in detrimental consequences for the nation's future.
Don't complain about crime when you don't complain about education.
Don't complain about crime when you don't complain about nutrition.

The scientists will tell us the red dye is linked to hyperactivity in children but sugar is not. Baloney. Europe doesn't want our meat Another reason to pull out of NATO. Trans Fats and sugar - I hope Kennedy fixes the problem. The trend is moving that way among young people. Replace DEI, woke, and BLM with healthy foods initiatives. Except for the look of (Diet) Mountain Dew, I don't know why anyone would prefer an unnatural color in their already poisonous candy food. You gotta admit, Mountain Dew is beautiful to look at. Like antifreeze.

All we have to do is take a look at Americans. it is disgusting the % of fat people. What is a fat person A disgusting looking human with cancer all over then and inside them. They smell, they look gross, and they increase the cost of everything for everyone because they have so many ailments. like I said. Disgusting inside and out, and it's the food companies fault. BILLIONS of dollars to market this trash.

Did you know that Chewing Gum is banned in Singapore In the U. S, it’s a super common snack, but in Singapore, it’s illegal to sell or import (except for medical gum. They did it to keep the streets clean and avoid gum litter everywhere. Crazy, right What other everyday foods do you think might be banned somewhere

If other countries can get these things in healthier versions, the law should say that WE here in the US have wide access to them also. If people want to eat the crappy version fine. But we should have access to them here also, in ways that don't cost $20 for a pop tart.

Individuals must exercise self discipline to avoid processed foods and their additives. Kennedy and Trump are never going to band these things, just use the potential for bands as a means to grift food producers.

I've gone full carnivore and feel completely different. The other main bonus for men is that we only need to visit one area of the store or just head to your local butcher shop. Literally NO Karens
reply

Definitely the meat part is the most concerning. But honestly everybody knows that stuff like pop tarts and potato chips are bad for you. If you purchase it that’s on you, not the government
reply

9: 33 I personally don't understand why any known carcinogens are used in our food.
I do. Because sick people are more profitable than healthy people. They're poisoning us on purpose.

reply

Thanks for bringing attention to these. I don't actually eat any of those things, mostly out of avoiding sugar or trans fats, but good to know about the dyes and other additives as well.
reply

Just eat whole foods which will eliminate a lot of these issues. Then only you'll need to worry about then are the quality and brands of meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs you're having.

At 6: 12 you used a map of Afghanistan split by Provinces lol. Gunna go out on a limb and say that donuts and boba drink probably aren’t a big concern there these days

I used to work in a fiberglass molding factory and they used titanium dioxide as part of the spray base for the fiberglass. It was used as pigment and strengthener.

FDA is supposed to be protecting consumers, but instead it focuses mainly on protecting food industry profits. I hope this gets changed under new FDA leadership.
reply

Reminder - the FDA gets most of its funding from Big Pharma and Big Ag, that's why all these toxic chemicals are allowed, they are owned by the big Corps.
reply

Didn’t the U. S. just ban red 4 & companies have 2 years to reformulate to remove it
And yellow 5 is under investigation to be removed next.

reply

Trust the government, give the government money all your guns and now let the government control your food supply. What could possibly go wrong
reply

The FDA in the United States is basically run by the companies they are regulating. It’s no different than the inmates running the prison.

Why modern society invent poison as food & killing us slowly It's an experiment to see how the human body can adapt to artificial chemicals.
