David! Stretch your illiopsoas (hip flexors, they run from your hips and connect up to your T-12 on your spine. If this muscle is tight it pulls down on your spine forcing your pelvis into an anterior tilt. Start stretching them every day and focus on strengthening your abs! (Not with cable crunches but rather with Planks and body weight crunches. Best of luck with the back pain, I promise is does get better. On a side note. using a thick weight belt such as yours when you squat and deadlift takes out most of your transverse abdominal activation leading to a weakness, so maybe lay off the belt. (Yes, you won t be able to lift as much)

What helped me the most to get over my hernia: 1. Barbell medicine's information on pain science 2. Reverse hyper + McGill big 3 3. Slowly working back front squats + thing high rack pulls, starting the progression with the empty barbell (generally 3 sets of 5-10 reps) Now I'm setting PRs again, with minimal pain levels ( 1-2 / 10) I'm not a doctor, heck, I only have 1. 5 years of serious powerlifting training behind me, but I know how shitty some days and workout might be. Patience is your best friend when you get off days. Persistence and autoregulation is also a key factor. Get well soon

Ohkay, so he has a bad lower back because he had consistent damage from deadlifting and squating. He did not recover consistently enough from his movements that constricted his lower back. BASICALLY, his lower back was super tight literally squeezing his lower back together and not allowing the spinal fluids to cushion the bones properly. I have a feeling he had discomfort for awhile but continued to push through it.

I herniated 2 disks in my lower back deadlifting in high school and I have severe nerve pain. I found the front squats where really affective because you have a more upright spine angle and have less axial loading. Not as fun as back squatting but its at least a taste. I highly recommend trying it, might work for you.

I struggled with this same injury my Junior and Senior year of high school. Honestly one of the toughest parts of my life in terms of stress and pain. It was excruciating as you know. Keep your head up, time does heal! It's a slow process but you will get there! All love from the comment section!

David - check out dr Stuart McGill, spinal mechanics expert, has numerous videos on his big three exercises he prescribes for spinal stiffness ( birddog, sideplank and curl-up) abdominal bracing training may be effective also.

Could hanging from a bar, not doing pull-ups, create some distance between your discs and allow for the to re-sensitization of your discs (don t know if that s a word lol) and decrease your lower back pain?

David: states that the main reason people have back pain is theyre not enganging their glutes enough whenever they're walking or sitting in a chair me: immediately starts flexing glutes in chair

Yo definitely liking the 10bit buttery gorgeousness from the S1H. Keep it up, I m sure we would all rather have this image quality than the one of the Cannon or Sony point n shoots.
