The Accutane Handbook Ep. 1 - Creatine, Being in the Sun, etc J. : Having almost finished my second course I've learned some of the best ways to help combat side effects include:
- aquaphor for dry lips (I had really severe dry lips that would bleed)
-vanicream for dry skin
-cetaphil (soapless face wash) (it isn't as harsh)
- avoid use of exfoliants the skin is very sensitive so it can be damaging
-try not to pop pimples when you're starting because the skin is much more sensitive and takes longer to heal
-accutane slows the healing process so avoid getting new piercings or tattoos while on accutane and for a month or two afterward.
-I had really dry eyes sometimes as a side effect as well so if that happens to you get some moisturizing eye drops and it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
If you have any concerns make sure to consult your dr.
Much of this information was corroborated/ recommended by my healthcare provider and reiterated by friends who had been on accutane in the past for sever cystic acne. Hope this might be helpful to others!

here's my personal treatment for my acne to be in control. it takes months of dedication and patience to clear acne or at least reduce it to where it's ok.
1) don't consume citric acid - manmade or natural. look up all the main sources of citric acid and totally avoid them for a few months if not forever. also watch out for citric acid in soaps or shampoo. citric acid is everywhere and it could be the cause of your acne.
2) take raw, as in raw, freshly diced garlic cloves. two cloves are plenty and take them in the morning when your stomach is empty and you haven't eaten food. you will get a nausea but don't worry it will go away within a few minutes. do this every single morning after you wake up. garlic will kill your bad bacteria and heal your gut. plus it will give you health benefits too. search them online.
that's it. two things you can do to clear your acne. if you do this every day within a week you will see a difference in your skin. within a month, your face will be normal.

Accutane accelerated degen. disc. disorder I had. So, my cartilage has some issues. However, I took it 20 year s ago and I still look 10 years younger than I am and I was worse than Brian with the cysts. Now my skin looks clear with a mild break out but nothing like before. it took me 3 rounds to clear my skin. It works great but you got to protect that cartilage.

You're casually promoting eating disorders based on pseudoscience, anecdotal evidence and correlation. Now, I know you're a genuinely nice guy, and you're probably thinking you're helping people with this series, but your reasoning is so poor for what your claims are. Correlation doesn't equal causation, which is the entirety of your reasoning here.

THANK YOU so much for insipiring so many people. Keep doing what you are doing, there might be other people who can gain of more of what they have because of you. Again thanks mate!

would you recommend accutane? I know it depends on skin so I've have mild acne, it's been on and off really bad and I've had it since I was 12, tried everything, really considering accutane. My skin is super sensitive and feels like it dries out easy but is pretty oily, just from experience would you recommend it? please answer

Depression/mood swings in relation to accutane seems to be a controversial topic. There is much anecdotal evidence (including suicides) to support a correlation, yet other people say there is no scientific relation whatsoever. What is your opinion on this and did you ever experience depression because of accutane?

I am a baseball player and Im about to take Accutane in the offseason. Do you believe it will have any effect on my performance for the next season if I stop a month before it starts? How soon after you stopped Accutane did you feel normal during training and getting your strength you had before you started?

I started accutane 3 weeks ago and my skin becomes reaaaally itchy and red when i wash my face. This wasn't a problem before the medication. Did that happen to you too? What moisturiser do you recommend? I'm scared this might lead to dermatitis or something: (
