No More Love Handles (5 STEPS TO A SCULPTED WAIST)

If you want to know how to lose the love handles and get a more sculpted waistline then you are about to find out. In this video, I cover a simple 5 step solution for getting rid of love handles and the excess fat around the waist to give you a leaner, more ripped midsection. It starts, as it always does with nutrition. Look, there are no magic bullets that are going to alleviate the need to have to drop your body fat levels if you want to see ripped obliques and a trim waistline. That said, it doesn’t have to be that complicated. Here’s a simple jump off point that you can try to get a head start on getting your body fat levels down and getting rid of the love handles. Incinerate the Love Handles Here - Subscribe to this channel here - First, look in the mirror and see whether you can see that top row of abs or not. It doesn’t have to be super sharp. Even if you can see the top row rather faintly, then you would multiply your bodyweight by 15 to determine your target daily calorie intake. If you cannot, then multiply by 12 to get a slightly lower daily caloric starting point. Eat consistently at this calorie level for the next two weeks and see if you are losing weight. If not, then drop by another 200 calories per day or so (up to 500 at the most aggressive) and reassess. Once you begin losing weight and body fat then you know you are on the right track and can continue until you reach your goal. The next step is what you can do to supplement your calorie deficit through other means. This is where activity comes in to boost your overall calorie expenditure and minimize the requirements that it comes all from dietary changes. Here, walking is the most advisable form of activity to have the biggest improvement on your waistline. This is because walking can be done more regularly and with less impact on recovery - netting out to the most impactful calorie burn over the course of a week. Running can be too hard on the joints for many, especially those carrying extra bodyweight, and isn’t likely to be as sustainable due to the higher effort required to do it at high intensities. The third step is somewhat of a cheat code. Rather than focusing on ab exercises and exercises for your midsection think about the visual effect that having bigger, rounder shoulders and a wider back could have on narrowing your waist. Here you want to focus on performing exercises that target the middle delts like lateral raises and ones that target the lats like pulldowns or straight arm pushdowns. Choosing the right exercises is key here and there are many specific ones laid out in the video. Next, you can start to focus on the area that you likely wanted to focus on in the beginning and that’s your abs. The key here however is choosing the right ab exercises. It’s the top down movements that move your shoulders towards your pelvis that are not only easier to perform but likely to lead to development of the abs that will keep you motivated as you continue towards losing your love handles. Remember, men tend to lose body fat in a top down manner. This means that you will see your abs before you lose your love handles. Making sure to train them to keep yourself motivated is key to getting the longevity required to get to the leaner waistline. Finally, focus on the obliques. Don’t make the mistake of avoiding oblique exercises for fear of a blocky waist. This is not true. In fact, a well developed set of obliques is a requirement for love handles to be gone forever. Just remember to perform rotational ab exercises like the ones shown to ensure that your waist looks trim and the waist looks amazing once the body fat is gone. My lean muscle and training is for clothed aesthetics and fitness/health, only my husband will see me shirtless anyway as I wear a shirt while swimming etc so I've resigned myself to love handles as it isn't worth it for me, but knowing just how much dedication it takes to even reach the point I have I certainly respect the work put in by anyone I see who has reached the point of conquering the waist and love handles!

I had visible love handles. Went on a strict diet. steak in the morning, 2 cans of tuna fish for lunch, salade for dinner. Lost about 45 pounds. I was only 190 when I started. Worked out every day and mowed 13 yards every week, so lots of walking. Got my waisted down from 36 inches to 28 inches. but still had love handles. and no visible abs. losing fat does not guarantee lose of love handles.

I am unable to do resistance training as I have constantly been traveling for work. I try to walk at least 10-12k steps every day, but I am losing my muscle mass. Please help me. I am also struggling from loose skin left after fat loss, which I was trying to fill up by increasing muscle mass, but my new schedule doesn't allow me time or access to resistance training. Please help.

I’ve lost 90 pounds since 2013 and the last 3 years I’ve been lightly lifting and running 3-4 days a week every week but the love handles and loose skin although not a huge amount are such a bummer I guess I just need to cut the calories even more i find myself addicted to sugary stuff so i haven’t given myself a completely fair shot.

I'm a skinny guy who can't afford to lose weight with big ass love handles. I'm on a 99% carnivore diet since May 2024. In that whole time, I probably had the same amount of sugar you put in your coffee this morning. I work out 2 days then walk one. No rest days. My delts won't build. I DO have a V taper but it's upside down. Now what

I've shed 10 pounds in the last 14 days. 197. 8 lbs to 187. 6lbs by eating banana and herbal tea then lunch is tuna salad small bead roll, evening meal zero carbs.
Training for 45 min 6 days per week.
Drinking plenty of water helps.
My target is 178 lbs with a six pack, i'm 5 11 and 53 years old.

Hey Jeff, any thoughts on how to progress squats while working on ankle mobility I. e. after doing banded ankle mobility would it be better focus on higher weight, higher reps, unilateral. Letting ankle come off the floor a little then pushing through until its on the ground again Thanks, love your videos!

So im confused because i Need direct weight loss before i can firm out my gut. Neutrogenx fat burners works but after two weeks of a balanced nutritional diet and a daily fat loss workout plan, i feel like that diamond digging quitter. How can i get better results in a quicker time period

How does this work if you are moderately skinny fat I weigh 126 lbs. and have a 3 pack. I lift weights 3X a week and walk 2X - 4X a week. If I run a calorie deficit I look like I just escaped from a prison camp. Plus I can't get the top down fat loss to my bottom 3 pack.

How o does the high daily variance of water weight not destroy any accuracy this has these are large changes that represent potential large margins of error. You could think you found a deficit, got unlucky from water weight timing, and be in a total surplus

Jeff what about us people with genetically wide hips I mean you might be lean but you still look like you have love handles especially in clothes, this is not an excuse but just a point of view in this topic, I’m still going to train hard and eat well

I like to walk a lap in between sets. Gives me an extra 50-70 steps each time at 30-40 second rest then rinse and repeat. Burn more calories and stops me from using my phone for 3 minutes in between sets like more people I see at gym

Walking is not more effective (in this regard) than running because it's more sustainable, because it's easier to fit into your schedule. that doesn't make the act of walking more effective than running, it simply makes it easier

I'd like to see a video explaining how to get better balance. My balance is pretty much nonexistent, to the point where i can't do bulgarian split squats or rear lunges without stumbling and/or falling down. Thanks a lot!

Can we get a detailed real life example of calorie counting I understand if you want abs you need to be in a caloric deficit, but I have yet to see a good video showing it in detail. Just talk no real life example.
