Some more programs to use on new PC: 1) Chocolatey. A package manager similar to apt for Ubuntu-based Linux distros. Works in console, but has an optional GUI which also can be installed with console. User can also create scripts to install required software, like with Ninite. And there's plenty more features for admins. It did replace Ninite for me as it has a lot bigger software library to choose from. First thing I install on clean PC. 2) 7-zip - must-have archive tool. Does very good job compressing files. I would also recommend WinRAR, but it's not actually free, so it's not going into this list. 3) foobar2000 - one of the best music players. Or even THE best out there. 4) nomacs - IMO simple but good image viewer. Default Win10 Photos app is garbage, and usually people do not need a lot of features for just watching photos. So, this is the best alternative to Photos app. There's IrfanView, XnView and so on, of course, but it's just a matter of personal taste :) There's a ton more software that's great and free - but most of it is not basic and not needed by most users. Not everybody is a 3D artist to work with Blender. Not everyone needs Lightroom nor free alternatives like Darktable. There's also FileZilla, VirtualBox, Kdenlive, DaVinci Resolve etc.

Here are some (more or less well known) programs I don't want to live without: 1. Everything by voidtools - Instantenous file/folder search with low memory footprint 2. CopyQ - Clipboard Manager, simply the best out of the one's I've tried (available for Mac/Windows/Linux) 3. X-Mouse Button Control - Macros for Mouse Buttons, allows switching between different Layers(Configurations) per App 3. QTTabbar - Tabs in Windows Explorer (should be built into Windows per default, really), no more having to open 5 different instances of the explorer to copy files from one location to the other 4. f.lux (or Sunsetscreen or any other app that filters blue light) - protect your eyesight at when working at night 5. Process Explorer - better, more feature rich alternative to Windows Task Manager 6. WinCDEmu - mount any disk image as if it were a physical drive (Windows Explorer can only mount iso's) 7. WinRAR or 7-Zip - I prefer WinRAR these days, 7-zip used to give me trouble when it didn't like the path or filename of the archive's.

FastStone Image Viewer (I have tried them all, always go back to this, fast, supports all image and video types and free) Foxit Reader: versatile light pdf reader, prefer this over acrobat reader Evernote : note taking software with clipping capabilities and syncs across devices Bandizip: prefer this to 7-zip because of the much better interface while still having same capabilities Free Download Manager: auto save different types of downloads to specified folders and organize downloads ClipClip: clipboard managing software FileMenu Tools: greatly enhance the file menu context menu, adds stuff like batch file renaming, shredding files, copy path, change attributes, splitting etc.. Programs that were already mentioned in the video that I use: Potplayer Glary Utilities Firefox Notepad++ Avast

I would add ClipX (by Bluemars). It is an extended copy-paste functionality program. You know when you use the Windows buffer (by use of Copy or CTRL-C), you can enter any text, image or file into your buffer. Then you can paste that entry as much as you want. But, when you put anything in your buffer, you do eject the previous entry from that buffer (no matter the type; text, file or image). This little program keeps track of the entries you have used, and you can revert back to an older entry, even if you copied pasted 10 different things. The limit is configurable. And, because the entries are saved into a file, so they are kept throughout Windows log-out or restart.

I recommend Vivaldi for browser. Also Syncthing is a really good scalable file/directory sharing program, cross platform open source good stuff Sync stuff like music or game saves to keep across devices or backing up. I also wouldn't bother screwing around with any torrent client besides tixati. Last recommendation is keepassxc for secure passwords that only you own, not a cloud service that can be hacked. And you could even sync your password database across any device. Easy, secure, ease of mind from big companies.

Audacity - open source audio file editor. Irfanview - Photoshop Lite. Not as powerful, but a helluva lot easier to master. Clickie - adds two items to the Windows right-click context menu: copy filename to clipboard (if a file), or open command prompt (if a folder). MathType - standalone Equation Editor that used to come bundled with Word. Standard version free, additional features available for 99.

I have been using Glary Utilities for 5+ years now. I really like the one button maintenance and fix it has built in. Another program I haven't seen you mention yet is Format Factory. FF is a great program for converting Video, Pictures, DVD and more to the file you want plus has options to make clips and you can also change the output settings to adjust the dimensions, quality and more.

Thanks! Some good info. I have been looking for a replacement for that terrible hacked bloatware, CCleaner for a while. Just had a look at your two recommendations, Bleach Bit and Garry Utils. I am running them both for a while to see which one works best for me. The main thing is, I have finally dumped CCleaner at last.
