I feel like this is a poor strategy. The skin tones need to be at least realistic to the tone of the image. Having a blue/green tone and then an orange skin just doesnt make sense. I think people should focus more on curves for the overall image tone, and then make small adjustments using the gradient map. But honestly, I think the HSL tool is better for this anyway.

Gradients maps are an amazing tool for many situations but not for skin tones! The colors of the face are matched but not the rest of the photo. In every example here the face stands out in a wrong way and that's the problem with this method. I'm also a fan of Gradients maps but not for skin tones correction!

hi umesh your videos are awesome and fully filled with a lot of knowledge really it taught me a lot of. BT I have one query on photoshop brushes. how they are rotated automatically. and yes it mostly happen in downloaded brushes. plzz make a video on this.

Super video. Clearly and interestingly explained. Thank you. I had trouble in sampling the colors from the 'face'. Then only I realized that 'SAMPLE ALL LAYERS' need to be selected on top! Might be a useful hint to others. Thanks again.

Beautiful tutorial but everytime in examples you showed matching skin tones on lighter skin tone from darker skin tone, can u do tutorial on darker skin tone from lighter skin tone

My working document is 32bit, when I copy paste an image from the internet to sample from (in 8 bit) I get very different colors - do you know how I can solve this please?

great tutorial- but what am i doing wrong. every color I select on my gradient map is a dark green. It is not picking up the colors of the reference face HELP!
