Didn't Asus have the Mars brand that stuck 2x 1060 dies with 12GB of VRAM for a high cost(600-700$? I think that was the last dual GPU card NVidia had. From what I remember it was a bit higher performance in some games than a 1080 and was a little bit behind the 1080ti
3090 sounds more like a titan replacement anyways, most high end gamers are probably going to buy the 3080, according to the newest Video card bench leaks, the 3090 was 45% higher in performance than a 2080TI while the 3080 was about 25% faster, and for $800 I think that will be the sweet spot for the higher end market, and that isn't even taking into account the performance gains from RTX features.
Also someone was yammering that NVcache is supposedly a feature of the 3000 series.
-----Edit - also there was an update they are not 8nm, they are 7nm chips.

Nvidia's closed binary Hairworks came out after AMD's open source TressFX that Nvidia has a lot of issues with in Tomb Raider.
It's very likely that Nvidia took AMD's code and made their own version. and made it closed source. This is a perfect example of the way Nvidia operates as a company. lawful evil.
As a GPU reviewer I don't know how Brad could remember the woes of Witcher 3/Hairworks but have forgotten the woes of Tomb Raider/TressFX.

Also I will keep saying it PCIe 5. 0 and CXL.
Monolithic dies are getting too expensive NVidia and AMD know this, MCM will probably be the future of mass producing chiplet like designs where you can simply interchange smaller dies or scale the chip to its intended market.
MultiGPUs will make a comeback frankly its the only way we are going to move forward especially if every GPU is going to host Half and full precision clusters.

Apple doesn't care if Nvidia buys ARM. Apple has a perpetual instruction set license and doesn't use any of the ARM designs (core or video. If Nvidia was buying TSMC that would hurt Apple (and AMD as well.

The Micron leak said 12 memory placements, not 12 GB. 12 placements could mean 12GB, 24GB or 48GB depending on the IC's they put on it. Multiple different leaks are saying the 3090 will have 24GB.

I love Gordon's bloopers at the start! I work for a pharma company and recently struggled with verbalization during a recent Zoom call with a few doctors. This makes me feel so much better!

Holy mother of mid roll ads! Too much, just too much, don't even like YouTube anymore but content creators are awesome, maybe look into joining floatplane with Linus.
