The big chonky thing is not only a waterblock, it is also a peltier. The peltier uses electricity to create a temperature differential, one side gets cold, and the other side gets hot. The waterblock actually cools the peltier, so it can do it's fancy physics magic efficiently. You'll need a proper physics expert to explain how it works.

It would have been nice to see if there's any clearance issues in regards to memory - from this angle (8: 13) it looks like the memory will be fouled by the hoses on the side - sadly, it also looks like placement for the pump will be the biggest issue for most folks.
