This might be because I'm new to this. Still, as I'm following the procedure step by step, My 2016 PP doesn't give me the Background removal option showed up here to make it transparent. The file tab is a minidisk button which doesn't offer much option as well. Will you have any other suggestions?

When I did this and then saved as a PNG my original background was removed, however the white slide is now a background. I selected the slide area, Format Background , and made it 100% transparent, and saved as a PNG...it is still there! Can you help?

This is IMPORTANT information. I hope and wonder if it applies to Publisher, basically the same interface, so here goes nothing!
But I thank ou regardless, I could perhaps edit the pic in word and paste it to Publisher!

You can only do this in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, not Publisher, is that correct? I tried to use the -Remove Color-, then -Set Transparent Color- in Publisher and it did not remove the background. Am I doing it wrong?

Somehow the bullet points have disappeared, and I only have the option to mark areas to remove with the little pen. It has worked fine before this! What did I do to make the bullets around the photo disappear!
