How to Change Processor Name in Windows 10 The Teacher Don't get serious. I just change my processor name to Alienware Area 51 with Core i8 Processor, just for fun and to surprise my friends. In this tutorial, you will learn how you can modify the Windows Registry to Change the Processor Name to your favorite one. This trick involves registry tweaking, so don't forget to take a backup before you modify. Registry Values ============= Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0] ProcessorNameString=AlienWare Area 51 - Core i8 Processor

Mine has 8 threads (4 cores) and so it gives 0-7 instead of just 0. Do i modify each or 0 is enough? I want to go from i7 8565u to i7 1165g7
