Great video for a time when so many people have to work from home! You deserve more views for this!
We run everything Cisco at work, and managing a Cisco VPN is a lot more complicated, but the general premise is the same. The only thing I'd mention is don't be afraid to use 192.168.255.0 or even one sub-netted out of the private class Bs like 172.16.0.0 or 172.16.255.0 for your VPN tunnels. They can get used by your clients, but it's pretty rare to see them get used on a default home network setup so they tend to be my top picks when setting up a VPN tunnel.
Picking a subnet out of bounds like that makes it easier to know if the client is connecting through a VPN by glancing at their IP when you're troubleshooting issues with them. If your private LAN uses 10. subnets, using a 172.16. or a 192.168.255.0 subnet makes it easier to know that they came in through a VPN when seeing the IPs in the logs.
Or you can just document/memorize your VPN subnets and go with that. :)

Chris. Thank you for all the content you have created. I have seen all of it, exept the live streams. Now I'm a Linux only user -and you are to blame- XD No really I really appreciate all you have done. Not for only me, but for everyone else who you have helped including the ones I will help using the knowledge you have given. I would also like to request maybe a video on playonlinux. Most people doesn't even ta;k about this amazing app since it is so old. It's even got the name -The 8 track of gaming- Even so, Some games work better in it than it does in lutris. I did say in your previous video I will post this again incase you didn't see that. Not for the request but for the gratitude. Now I'm sure you'll see it.

I have a new synology server and I want to use the vnp so that I might be able to see my DVR BUT my ISP does not give a public IP so I can not open ports. Quick connect helps me to see my photo, file , moments etc but the VPN simply does not connect. I'm thinking to use my cloudatcost server justo to do a tunnel via ssh but they have not released my resources for the fee they charge. Any idea how to work around the cg Nat ? Thank you, great video as always

Does the community version allows a specific users to log in simultaneously?
In Pf sense configuration where in the process you set up users so in the win client asks for a user/pass? Where is that filled in, in the pfsense side
PS: For a 1200Mhz 4 core cpu of 2014 64 is at the high level if that moment isn't doing any heavy duty work

7:21 any chance you know how it's called on an ASUSTOR NAS??? (to access server's LAN) --> I just sub'd for this - Greetings from a 41 year old Belgian trying to learn Network stuff...
I can only see these 3 options to check/uncheck: VPN Link Compression, DNS server or Redirect Gateway (which shows up in your pfsense at 17:06)

Awesome stuff!
Do you know of any way to avoid the port forwarding idea? There are some situations where you do not have the ability to port forward, yet still want to setup a VPN server for your employees to link to the office. I've been trying to do reverse SSH and NAT hole punch, but am struggling to get it to work properly.

Would you make a video to teach us how to setup a OpenVPN in terminal without scripts? Just step by step, and tell us what is going on, I think it is the best way to learn deeper, and know what we are actually doing. Nonetheless, Synology is a great corporation, and the method is easy, but I still want to do it on my PC.

Here in Brasil VPN aren't necessary. Our gov doesn't spy on us because we have one of the most advanced internet laws, the Civil Milestone of Internet (Marco Civil da Internet). We can download torrents, movies, music and etc. Just NSA and CIA spy on us and at our oil company. Hahaha

Just waiting on my new (used) media center box and then I-m going to turn my old one into a pfsense box. First thing I-m going to do is get openvpn set up. Anyone recommend a cheap wireless ap to go with pfsense?
