Nice overview, but getting a Hugo site up and running isn't as easy as you've made it appear, IMO. I found the documentation on the Hugo site lacking/confusing and ended up purchasing the book, -Hugo in Action.-
If you do the research, you'll find that most reviews state that Hugo is more for someone with a developer/IT background and I have to agree with that opinion. WordPress is much easier for a non-techie to get up and running versus Hugo or Jekyll.
I decided to look at Hugo because I'm tired of the slowness and bugginess of the Gutenberg editor. The security aspect of static site generators and using markdown to create content is also appealing to me.

I like HTML5 Canvas, but there doesn't seem to be very many sites out there that do this. I've got a pet project, it was a flash site that I rebuilt from the ground up in canvas. I pestered the adobe pros for years, asking -how do I do this?- Their answer was, -no one has done it, I can't do it/can't help you, it may be impossible-.... well, I did it xD I don't even consider myself proficient in JS, or ajax, but I did it.

Graduation Day!!! Plugins... Where we're going there are no Plugins!!! Throw that Hugo goodness into some Forestry.io and let your clients dance like nobody's watching because you've encapuslated them from their biggest liability - themselves! Hugo has been the Future for a few years :) It's just not your point and click GUI that the majority of these 'developers' 'develop' in :)

1) Only idiots use wordpress for sites that could have been created as static. 2) wordpress can also be used as a dev/offline creator to extract a static version of the site 3) You don t need all those new overcomplicated tools that rediscover the wheel. You can write your own super easy to use static site generator with a few lines of code

You-re obviously a knowledgeable guy, but the way you talk about things makes every video of yours I watch useless. Hyperbole just makes you sound like a douche. How bout, instead of just launching straight away into the install tutorial, actually explain what the differences are that make your alternative a better option?

Preposterous, Titus. 90% of the users of wordpress are people like me, small bussiness owners who haven't got an idea of how internet works, it was hard enough to buy a host and het it running with wordpress. Thinking of using code gives me the collywobbles

I do not think, that Hugo is for all. There are better solutions, according to usability. Publii for instance. With a graphical interface and easy to use. No coding.
