HW News - Dell Plans for 1000W NVIDIA GPU, Nintendo Wins, & Noctua Delays New Product
video description
I'd like case reviews, cooler reviews, CPU reviews, GPU reviews, news; all in a separate playlist in addition to the regular uploads list. It makes finding a specific episode\topic\product much easier on almost all platforms (tv, PC, phone) just in case someone forgot the title or name of an episode \ review. These are just suggestions, you don't need to go ham on them, but if you did, it should only be beneficial for those who are looking for something specific, and regular viewers shouldn't feel any difference by that, I think.

Piracy is a complex topic.
But until companies like Nintendo offer a better service than piracy it will just keep going.
I have a 3ds behind me on a shelf i have not touched it in YEARS besides to move it so i could stock stuff around it/on top of it.
I have used DeSmuME emulator instead and Citra and i'll likely keep using whatever final build they have for the games i own and move towards buying less nintendo games because of it.
Personally i find it much easier to sit at a computer desk with a giant monitor to play 3ds games even if the emulator doesn't use my full screen properly (two screen weirdness, i wish i could figure out how to have it use a second monitor) having all roms in one folder, rather than digging out the 3ds not to mention my brother has all the hardware and more games than i'd ever play i could borrow but never will.
Piracy is this case isn't legit because i can play this legally Nintendo hardware is aids, since the gamecube which i did really enjoy.
As for proper piracy - downloading a game i haven't brought well i downloaded Wartales, played it for a week.. loved it and paid for it to own on steam.
Most cases of Piracy outside of Videogames is poor service, its something we should all openly discuss and encourage people like nintendo and netflix to do better about.
Paying for netflix without a smart tv you can't have 4k, they need to steal your data if you want 4k, and netflix is introducing ads...
So.. why not just use the Pbay

Nintendo didn't win anything here, the setback they have created for people using these emulators is minor at worst and non-existent at best. Both emulators are still very much alive, as are the communities. Forks of them exist in multiple places and they are still easily available. Citra is a very mature emulator and is in a very good shape already so no further work is really required, as for Yuzu the community will keep developing it on it's own. And it's probably just a matter of time before somebody within the community picks it up in a more official capacity and inherits the project, good things like these don't remain ownerless for long. The only thing Nintendo did here was bring more attention to those emulators even existing, so good job!

Honestly love all your content, don't think there needs to be a signifier of series to have me interested as I watch pretty much anything you upload due to the quality, but it also wouldn't be offputting to have it labelled as such if that helps organize things for others.
Obviously you have insight into watch numbers etc., and would have made actions sooner if it looked like doing so would effect viewership significantly on those videos; everything seems to work fine as-is, but I don't think specificity in series/titling would be amiss as the pool of content grows, and for future viewers to peruse.

I personally think the interviews shouldn't be called a series because they don't have an overlapping theme per se (other than technology :P)
I do think it would be useful if they're clearly labbeled as an interview
Doesn't really turn it into a series but does clearly show that it's part of the same type of content.
They're already in a playlist so that is good for searchability. Might be good to mention or link to that playlist at the end of the interviews
An index page on the website with all the interviews and a short blurb about the content of each would also be nice.

Them saying S series procs are a waste of time to review, like there's a whole lot to review atm...ppl want to know, how different is it from the 13900ks or 12900ks lol what did it take to cool it, how much power did it draw based on your lab testing results, some ppl look to you guys to provide this info, why they sub and view your vids, maybe that's just a waste of my time or someone else's time...other tech tubers will review it, cause ppl want to know, how good is this 6.2ghz CPU lol

As someone who lives in a country with VERY expensive electricity usage, seeing newer CPU/GPUs electric usage going-up (or really any electric device at this point) is just very concerning and discouraging me from considering upgrading any of my devices. In fact, I really appreciate all the electrical efficiency/usage information that GN has been providing in their videos and those will DEFINITELY be an important aspect to consider when building my next PC.

19:50 people who pirate games will download YUZU on the same websites, that provide the games and the BIOS. So what Nintendo did is just punish the legit users and make them resent Nintendo, NOT STOP PIRATES.
PS if anyone asks, legit users are the ones who own the Switch and the games, and want less baggage on a trip somewhere, who want to play with better resolution and higher FPS with mods and so on.

This just completely cemented my decision to never give Nintendo another cent. They do not listen to their own community's desires and have failed to support their player base by cutting off services and making it impossible to play their games on their own consoles. A really sad day especially considering OOT, MM and SM64 are 3 of my most favourite games and are absolute master pieces in my opinion.

An idea for engineering video: please visit one of fibre network providers or manufacturers of fibre equipment - to show people how modern networks are build. Starting from mainframe, headends finishing on connectorised block terminals and customer service point and ONT's! I'm more than sure you would get a clearance and few local ISP's would be interested in inviting you to record your material!

So... The planet needs us to slow down energy consumption and optimize resources.
Gpu design keeps drifting more and more away from that goal and doing harm, not only that way but also through programmed obsolescence.
Yet, climate change activists in Europe keep blocking working people instead of directing protest to tech industries. Why Are they really that far off from reality

steve! you mention going to taiwan and i wanted to ask, is kingpin still over there whats he up to hes a cool dude and i haven't heard anything from/about him in a while.
edit: on titling, say engineering interview first, then title it after would be how i'd do it. in the end its all just filters, and filters are data, and data is good.

There's a reason I throw money at the screen as soon as I hear Steve say Limited foil edition t-shirt. HW News keeps me up to date and all the additional content provides very interesting further insight. As far as naming conventions go, imho having things neatly organized into sensible playlists is enough. Keep up the good work!

1000W This is bonkers. I will probably just stop playing games if consumer GPUs go this way, because this is getting ridiculous. My current PC is already the most power hungry device in my household with peaks close to 500W while gaming, not to mention the heat output into the room.

Im all for consistent branding in specific series, like hw news always has that in the title it might be a good idea to do the same for the factory tour series and the interviews as well so they're easily searchable, something like gn deep dive : frametime whatever, latency something

I have no idea whether it's optimal to categorize the interviews as a series or not. I'd be concerned that a GN viewer who might be interested in one of them ends up passing on the video because giving it a subtitle makes it look different from literally everything else you post.

Some people don't learn from others:
Corrin. Nintendo hacker Gary Bowser has been released from prison after 40 months, but must pay the company 25-30% of his income for the rest of his life after operating hacking website Maxconsole. -- Apr 18, 2023

Very excited to see the video about tracing! As someone who has done GPU compute programming (both CUDA and HIP), and had to profile applications for performance with tracing this is something I have wanted to see for gaming GPUs
