we analyze the Sapphire RX 5700 XT Pulse PCB and VRM to determine the quality of one of the more budget-friendly 5700 XT partner models. We previously reviewed this card and found its thermal solution to be good, especially comparatively to reference, but hadn't looked into the VRM and PCB quality until today. Our original review of the 5700 XT Pulse: Sapphire's RX 5700 XT Pulse Find Buildzoid here: We have a new GN store:

Would have been clear cut the one to get for my needs and amount I am prepared to spend on gaming, but Nvidia back tracked on the Great Turing Robbery and launched the 2070 Super. Now it is not so clear cut. Super is a bit quicker, but the good ones are quite a bit more pricey. I think RX5700xt prices will come down and make them more attractive. No sign of a 5800xt yet. I ditched my trusty old 2500k for a 2700X. I have a 3700X now. RX590 Nitro replaced a 1050ti. 5700XT Pulse seems to be the one to go for based on NZ prices, but I am in no hurry. Game I am playing is CPU bound, so the 3700x largely fixed that. I need to check out if I would be better saving money and going for the 5700 non XT. I kind of regret getting the RX590 and should have got the RX570 8GB at the time while doing the 'waiting for Navi' thing. Way cheaper here in NZ, but not that much slower.

You should really find a new sponsor because the NU Audio card I am amazed it didn't short anything out; I have never longer legs left on a card in my life. Also it wasn't packaged in an anti-static bag? what the hell EVGA. and honestly have you tried this card you find it acceptable or is this just cash in your pocket? It's not in mine because I clicked your link to buy it and I am disappointed in my decision of trusting you. P. S. The picture of your video isn't what the end users get; maybe you got a pre-production unit that was done right?

The question is, will there be any other card which offers the same value as this one? So far, it would seem that this is clearly the best version of the 5700 XT. Anything more expensive is not worth it (and, in many cases, inferior in quality as well, and anything cheaper is much worse. I have seen a couple of other similarly priced dual fan models out there which might be good, but I haven't seen any reviews on them yet.

Oh, so this dropped on GN. Was waiting for it on AHOC but whichever really. Anyway, been waiting for Buildzoid's take on this ever since the card dropped since am planning to get it, so there might be some confirmation bias as far as I'm concerned but this really looks pretty decent. Really wanted a card with horizontal fins and unlike the 580 I've got now, the Nitro went for a vertical stack this time.

Thanks for the review- sure some people may be going 30 minutes! but you talk sense, you are informative and you understanding rubs off on people though your explanations. The 5700xt GPU is a nice GPU to have regardless (almost) to the configuration of the board that it's on. You show what the difference between good cards and the 'almost' designs.

Why don't we have standardized PCB-layouts per tier (power consumption) of graphics card? It would be a lot better if we could buy one heatsink and keep using that. Not only better for the end-user (less expensive, always the best quality of cooling) but we would also waste less metal. Newsflash, metal is not environmental-friendly.

You confused me with the timers on the left by reversing the order from top to bottom to bottom to top. Or am I blind and it hasnt changed? If those are the same fuses that Apple uses then Rossmann Repair Group has proven that it isnt possible for them to actually blow lol.

Hey BZ/Steve my pulse XT has different Caps and inductors. i changed the thermal paste last week and i noticed the difference. could it be that this is an early sample? Cant' say about the VRMs because i didn't take off the plate that covers them and the mem chips

I'm water cooling a reference 5700XT in an open loop with a 3600X. Using a Danger Den Maze 4 GPU block I've had since 2005 and used on countless GPU's. Idles 28c, loads 53c. I disagree that it's silly. :)

What are your guys honest opinion about the reference (blower style) 5700 XT? The used markets on these are much cheaper and performance doesn't seem too different from the customized ones
