Intel couldn't stand by and let AMD announce everything this year, so it announced its H670, B660, & H610 cheaper chipsets (and motherboards) for Alder Lake, alongside much cheaper CPUs. This video covers the specs, price, and release date of Intel's non-K CPUs, like the i5-12400F, i5-12400, i3-12300, i3-12100, and more. We'll also talk about the differences between the Z690 chipset and H670, B660, and H610 chipsets. This chipset comparison will help you evaluate whether it's worth the extra money to get Z690 versus one of the cheaper options.

B660 is such a piece of trash! Oo
The difference between Z690 and B660 is way bigger than anything I remember in recent history between Zn90 and Bn60 series... And to make it even worse, lane repartition is totally broken : for instance, the full ATX B660 Gaming X AX has only 2 x1 pcie slots outside of the main one, in spite of only having 3 M2 slots, 2 being PCIE4. Even the B660 Master looks like a huge disappointment.
The only good segment for B660 seems to be matx, which might be why MSI has done mostly that format.
H670 looks good, but there are very few of them.
B660 better be dirt cheap, but I have a feeling it won't be.

Whoever developed these Intel heatsinks is literally sabotaging billions of dollars put into r&rd to make these CPUs turbo. These Intel coolers are garbage, there are zero heatpipes on the high end, and a serious lack of cheap aluminum mass in the lower end cooler. It's another pointless hockey puck affair with annoying push pin mounting, except now you get to pay 500 for a puck with RGB.

Considering that 8 skylake threads = 8 e-core threads, and a p core is 50% faster in IPC (according to tech powerup) and accounting for clock speed, the 12100f is by far the best CPU on this list. Its a 4 core 8 thread CPU with the performance of a 10600-10700k in games.

Talking about new coolers.
Why has nobody made CPU coolers where the heatsink fins act as rotoblades of the cooler.
To me that seems like a more efficient way than having an external fan blasting air on/away from the heatsink with all it's fins attached.

I'm very curious to see how those Laminar coolers perform. They look kinda dinky, but if they're more usable than the hunks of crap Intel used to ship, it'd add some good value to their CPUs

I think it's a bit of a shame that none of the i5 or i3 CPU's have any E-Cores. I would have expected something like 2x E-Cores on the i5 chips, and then maybe nothing on the i3's.

Amd: we got nothing interesting coming soon
Intel: we got everything coming soon, in fact, we have way too many things coming soon, just to confuse buyers

So strange that Hardware unboxed released a review of B660 and i7 12700 at the same time while it here is still news . I guess Intel is the reason?

These H-SKU CPUs should make for some VERY interesting TinyMiniMicro 1L PCs on the second hand market in a couple years...

Wish I was aware of this video before watching the Intel CES presentation.... It was like watching an episode of Bottom Gear.
