Ah Jay for future consideration. CO and CO2 are both heavier than air. I would keep the CO Detector low as in your cot level. A small fan like you mentioned would be excellent as well to not only circulating the heat but it would also mix the CO and CO2 mixed in the air as well. Also Propane is heavier than air as well. Good to know if you are not running the heater and it might have a tiny leak. If you keep your tank shut off when not in use then of course you need not worry about it. Just trying to be helpful.

I'm 61 years old and I went out camping and fishing on the lake in the Kananaskis country on Spray Lake. Alone.
90 km gusts of wind and -35 F
Ice fishing. Had all the right gear, and 4 fat candles.
The ice Crystal's on top of my Eskimo tent were awesome. I walked out, set up the tent. Drilled a hole for my beer and one for my emptys. A third hole for the lake trout.
I kept warm and had an amazing experience. Wish I was younger though.

Also something to keep in mind is to put a foam pad or sleep roll down on your cot. It is one more thing to insulate you from the cold air. One other thing is the fan, there is a thing called a thermoelectric fan. I have one that I dremmeled a piece out of the base so it hooks on my mr. budy grate. It heats up in about a minute and really helps move the air in the shack.

Thanks for the video! Ive camped on the ice a lot this year. Here in Utah theres not many people camping on the ice yet so we usually have the lake to ourselves. Do you ever use the green submersible lights for night ice fishing? I used one for the first time this weekend and it seems to have worked pretty good but Ill have to use it a few more times to know for sure.

hey jay love your videos, you mentioned something about a fan to move heat around they make thermoelectric fans that are powered by heat I've seen people jerry rig them onto buddy heaters and hear they work great especially since they don't require any batteries

Jay, I typically fish by myself but may want to do some ice camping with my wife or a buddy. Me and the wife are short, Do you think the xd450 is big enough for a comfortable camping experience or should we really upgrade to the xd650?

Only done one overnight trip so far this year. got one bite from a 29-30 inch walleye that escaped at the hole and one from a treble hook in the back of my hand at least MB has the barbless hook law on that last one.

Love the video! Co2 Detector goes on the floor! the gas sinks and fills rooms up like a liquid from the ground up! it must be so confusing to wake up from a dream with a fish on lol

Morning Jay great video's. I'm looking at Dunlop purofort boots, they offer two versions the green like you have and a black. Is there a reason you chose the green over the black?

Jay you need a buddy heater filter for using 20lb propane tank. Look it up, without one your heater will fail eventually from the oils in the long hose. You should spread the word
