On a 4 day canoe trip on the French River with Joe Robinet, Scrambled O and Doug Outside as we hunt waterfowl, catch fish and cook awesome meals over the campfire. Ontario, Canada ing Check out their channels: JoeRobinetBushcraft - DougOutside - Scrambled O- Starting out from Loons Landing in Dry Pine Bay, head east on the North Channel of the French River. This is not part of the French River Provincial Park, but most of the river here is bordered by crown land so camping is allowed without a permit. There are plenty of sections that are actually private though, so consult a good navigational map (Jeffs Maps) to make sure you are not trespassing. Exercise extreme caution around rapids. Most of them are runnable for experienced whitewater paddlers, but water levels and conditions vary tremendously throughout the season and from one year to the next. For this reason, I recommend circumnavigating 18 Mile Island in a clockwise direction, as the current in the Main Channel can occasionally make upriver travel difficult, particularly in 5-mile Rapids. Spend your first night between Ash Bay and Wolseley Bay in the North Channel and your second night near Cross Island or Parisien Island in the Main Channel to allow enough time to reach your vehicle by mid afternoon on the last day. Total Distance: 70 km Start/Finish: Loons Landing on Dry Pine Bay or French River Adventures on Wolseley Bay Parking Fees: 10/day parking at Loons Landing, 8/day parking + 7 launch fee at French River Adventures. Camping Permit Fees: 10. 20 (adult) 5. 10 (youth) Useful links Parking, launching, permits and canoe rentals: Loons Landing: French River Adventures: Ontario Parks: My Self Reliance, myselfreliance, my self-reliance, ScrambledO, Scrambled O, Bushcraft, Woodcraft, Survival, Primitive skills, Nature, Edc, Preparedness, Homesteading, Homestead, Backpacking, Hiking, Camping, Fire, Self Reliance, Hammock, Frost River, Puma Knives, Silky Gomboy, Self Sufficiency, Living Off The Land, Off The Grid, Survival Kit, Bushcraft Kit, Eno Hammock, Fatwood, Adventure Sworn, Paracord, Bankline, Knots, Sawyer Mini, Water Purification, Water Filtration, Wilderness Self Reliance Outfitters, Pathfinder School, Firesteel, Ferro Rod, Carving, Primitive Shelters, Feathersticks, Campfire, Campfire Cooking, Bushcraft Breakfast, Fjallraven, Leathercraft, Friction Fire, Bow Drill, Dakota Fire Pit, Dehydrated Meals, Food Storage, Freeze Dried Foods, Wild Edibles, Foraging, Life Hacks, Camping Hacks, Canoe, Canoeing, Fishing, Hunting

Hi Shawn. I've been spending today watching you, Doug, joe, and the two Baird brothers camping, canoeing, and all around enjoying the outdoors. Pretty awesome. It was 91 degrees here yesterday and is supposed to get at least that and more over the next few days so that's why I'm sitting it out. You hang with an awesome crew. What a great life you have and live to the fullest. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so very much for the adventures you take me on. I lived in Canada in my younger days and did a lot of camping. As I got older life threw me a curve ball. Long story short I was sent back to my native land(lol) TRINIDAD. I get alot of enjoyment from your videos, thanks.

I keep hearing ever such a slight accent, when you speak, Shawn. Sort of UK regions, ie, Wiltshire, Devon or possibly Bristol. I pick it up especially, when you say the word - out?

Great when 4 guys get together and enjoy life as its meant to be out in the wilderness, living off the land and rivers, wish I was young again I'd join you!

The 2 guys have the smallest canoe. No wonder he was groaning, Do you tie yourself to the canoe for your safety or the canoes?

Awesome food! Fun trip! I have injuries and can't get out like that, but I drive way up into the mountains and camp often.
