I Tried To Make A Tofu Turkey Recipe Lieb: So, I dont care too much if they take similar ideas to Bon Appetite (even though its a bit obvious theyre trying to recreate Gourmet Makes, because no one owns the idea of recreating food. My problem with (actually a problem Ive had with them for a while compared to Bon Appetite, is that you dont really learn anything. Almost every video is just watching people with an awkward and quirky personality try to make food. And I dont doubt theyre knowledgeable about cooking at all, they have this job because they really can cook after all. But something about the presentation feels a little forced. Lets get young quirky millenials so we can attract similar young quirky millenials, is how its felt to me. Bon Appetite isnt just entertaining, because of people like Claire, Brad, Chris, Carla, etc. but its actually informative and in depth. They act professionally and take you through their process, and its actually interesting. I often remember their videos and apply what ive learned when I try to cook myself. I remember nothing from videos when it comes to cooking, with the exception of videos from Amanda or Rie, where they actually do seem to talk about their process, give tips on making something, or compare foods made from s multiple chefs. Those videos are great, and Id love more things like that from . Their vegan channel Goodful, is also great. With videos like this though, or videos of trying to make something in a giant form, it gets old and you can kind of see through it. With Bon Appetite videos in general and Gourmet Makes, the food and the information comes first and the personalities and the fun the chefs end up having are just a great bonus when it comes to watching Bon Appetite videos. With it seems more about the idea of getting a cute and funny girl, or a cute and funny guy to watch them stumble and make awkward jokes while making food, because thats what they think is so relatable. I mean, I clicked on this video because I did think it would be informative, but instead its just a girl struggling with Tofu for 10 minutes. I like both and Bon Appetite, but could be so great if they put more of the quality content that we know they can make, content that I can actually learn from and have fun watching, instead them filming a video seemingly inspired BAs success with this idea (which again is fine, without seemingly getting the point of the why the BA series is so interesting to watch in the first place.

You have to knead that loaf o gluten to get the texture. About 10-15 minutes kneading. Really. That will help with the sponginess. Just like with bread dough. Regarding the comments about vegepeople eating meat-like foods. Its is great way to transition to meatless or when you just need a little bit of chew. I too have held firm on the idea to not try meatish foods if you are meatless. But I have tasted some meatless entrees (Gardein, Quorn, Field Road, Miyoke Skinners cheeses) that are fab. There are more vegan products out there that taste just odd, though. So, better to learn to cook meatless and have a nice seitan load every now and then.

On this clip, its obvious that alot of food was wasted because she was trying to recreate a turkey that taste like crap. I think its ridiculous for someone who is against of animal-derived ingredients to make something like that. How about reversing the idea of recreating a piece of fruit or vegetable with meat? Everybody can enjoy how to cook and serve their food, such as fresh produce for vegans, sustainable meat farming for meat eaters or nut-milk as a substitute for lactose intorelant people. At the end, Veganism is clearly an option but lactose intorelance is a digestive disorder, they are not comparable.

Some people are confused as to why would vegans like to mimic meat-based foods instead of just eating fruits and vegetables all the time. Well, vegans become vegans because they want to protest against animal cruelty in animal produce, not just because they like the taste of fruits and vegetables. And on holidays like thanksgiving and christmas, turkey is a staple food, so of course vegans would also like to enjoy in on the tradition with a meatless alternative. Vegans are not hurting anyone, so why the hate? -sincerely, a meat-eater

Honestly Im tired of seeing thumbnails of weird or grossed out faces when it comes to non-vegan channels making vegan food Vegan food can be VERY delicious, but more importantly veganism is the way of the future. the earth, our health, and the billions of innocent animals suffering for the sake of a select few products is so ridiculous and outdated. Im glad more and more veg content is being made but stop acting like its so strange.

Is it morally wrong for a true vegan to try to recreate animal foods? I hear all the time that they are disgusted by animal foods. Trying to recreate meat is probably not appetizing for someone turned off by the idea of cooked meat. Just curious. Under these premises would this recipe offend vegans? Again, I studied anthropology and I am just curious.

I totally understand this is for vegan or vegetarian people, but I personally feel real poultry meat is far healthier than all that wheat gluten and stuffs, every other ingredient is still fine thou I could be wrong. Also if vegans have in fact chosen that lifestyle, I dont think they want a pretend bird on their plate, thats the whole point right?

I turn tofu into turkey cutlets and its so easy. Double freeze medium tofu, marinate it in tamari and veggie broth with herbs, drain, bread in flour mixed with nooch and poultry seasoning, then fry it until golden. Im vegan and celiac. My aunt gave me this recipe and its so good. Im actually making it for Christmas dinner

the trick to making tofurkey roast is basting it with some sage, stock and soy sauce as its cooking just like a regular turkey, basting keeps it juicy and gives more flavor and the crust forms a lot crisper. the directions on the package are fail

Now you have a recipe bish you gave no amounts no we dont. all we know is 1 block tofu and 1/2 cup less vital wheat gluten than used the second time. We dont even know how long to cook it. I actually wanted to make this.
