When you're losing weight AND exercising you are losing the fat but building muscle. muscle is FAR MORE DENSE than fat so even though you ARE GETTING SMALLER don't be discouraged if your weight stays the same or goes up slightly. A lot of people get stressed out and quit not thinking it is working because they don't realise gaining muscle can appear to STALL their weight loss progression. You look fantastic! I'm 6'0, 45 years old and bounce around 189-195 so don't give up, you're doing great!

Somebody beat me to it, but Whataburger smashes In N Out by far! I typically don’t get into all the hate between Cali/Texas. people from here in TX don’t welcome too kindly the people from CA, and vice versa. One Cali/Tex debate I will entertain however is the Whataburger/In N Out battle. In N Out has made its way down south and have San Antonio locations, curiosity got to me so I checked out what the hype was about. Whataburger is way better all day every day!

Sam. I love you. I have been following you for years. I know you're getting closer to retirement. I nearly cried when I learned that you quit the restaurant business. Before you hang up the spatula, please do the Salt n Pepper Chicken Wings. There is a restaurant right there in Chula Vista that makes this and I would kill to be able to make them now that I have moved away. Ask me for the details and I'll give them to you off line. But please please PLEASE look into this.

Sam you have to come back to Texas for a visit. DFW and Love Field both have Whataburger inside the airports. Dallas area also has 5 Culver's if you haven't tried Culver's!
Whataburger does use pickled jalapenos and they don't smash, patty already pre formed but never frozen.
Check out Braum's from Oklahoma, they have over 300 locations, with many in N Texas. and also Taco Casa that's been around over 52 years with over 100 locations (TX and OK, 1 in AR)

Slowly cutting the entire calorie intake, while slowly increasing the elevated (fat burning) heart rate. Super light dumbbell upper body resistance lifts every other day WITH the cardio will yield 3 fold. Arms one day. Shoulder 2 days later. Chest another day. Back 2 days later. Light full range of motion basic's. Lots of vids & those boys can help research too. GO!

Deelicious lookin burger Sam. Whataburger is my go-to in Joplin, Mo, and the Tulsa, Ok. metro area. Ive heard they now have them in Kansas City. You owe it to yourself to road trip to any town that has them. They are open 24 hours a day, and I understand their breakfast sausage is also amazing. Go on, Sam. Do it. You know you want to!

16 oz of water is a pound. You can easily drink a few pounds on (and pee them out later) or you might have retained water because of exercise or salty meals. That’s why it’s best to check weekly because then you’ll see an overall trend instead of ups and downs due to water. (Or get a scale that breaks down your muscle, bone, water etc)

Just one of the many things that make Texas the best state is how we’re home to Whataburger. Their basic Whataburger by itself is great. It’s nothing but an old-fashioned hamburger. The best part is that they don’t pre-cook the beef patties. You have to wait a little longer than other fast food joints but it’s worth it.

I’ve loved Whataburger since my first bite years ago because it perfectly captures the small town grease burgers that I grew up eating. They aren’t smashed but preformed. Avoid their melts at all costs. I’ve never had one that wasn’t sopping wet with whatever that griddle oil/sauce is that they squirt on there. Disgusting!

My grandparents, who lived in Central Louisiana, once offered to take my wife and I to a Whataburger- I didn't even know they had built one in their town. We were game, so we loaded up and went for burgers and pulled up to this dingy looking old gas station with the words, WOT-A-BURGER crudely painted on the exterior. :-/

You don't have a lot to lose, but the plateau comes because there's a certain # of calories it take to just maintain your weight. You end up losing a few lbs but then what you're taking in is what you need to maintain that weight. So no more weight loss. Have to keep reducing calories or do Adkins, Keto or Carnivore

ANY burger is better than WhatABurger! A few years ago, my wife and I traveled to Texas and we were excited to try In-and-Out. But our host - a Texas native- convinced us to try WhatABurger instead. WhatAMistake! That burger was awful! We’ve since had In-and-Out, and there’s no comparison. WhatABurger just sucks

The closest thing I’ve found in Southern California to a Whataburger are the burgers from The Hat. They aren’t exactly the same, but the flavor, size and proportions are similar.
I haven’t found anything really like Whataburger’s breakfast taquitos here, but they’re easy enough to replicate at home.

If you’re complaining about In-n-Out fries, just admit you don’t get them animal style and move along. There’s a reason there’s a big ass lines at every single location. It’s not because they’re slow.
It’s also really nice to see Sam sauce the top bun on a burger once in a while.

Diet note: Don't get discouraged by the scale because the numbers could be deceiving. If you are working out, even a little, you could be gaining muscle at the same time you are losing fat. Soon enough you will start feeling you pants fitting loser, then you know you are on the right track.

Whataburger is overrated. They had good food until they sold out to a company in Chicago. They are masters on shrinkflation. Tomato slices are so thin they literally have only on side. More bun than burger. $1. 20 extra for cheese. don't know if it's for 1 slice or 2. It's a rip off.

Watching the scale will just drive you nuts, do what you do and dont worry about the numbers for the first 2 weeks or so. You will notice your clothes fit different and you will feel better, checking the scale everyday is just torture and really causes a lot of people to give up.

Whataburger nasty. Live outside Augusta, Ga. We had local owned 3 what-a burger founded in 1920's. Damn good burgers and the new chain copyrighted the name and made them change name. Ended up going out of business because people thought it was a different place

Sam, you've been to Texas Once Really, you need to start a new thing and tour the US, Come spend a week in Texas, meet some of the restaurant people here then go back and make some of the things that you learned. Then go to Georgia, or Kansas, or New Orleans
