I ll be using a lot of this video this coming Thursday. I ll let ya know after. But mainly I am commenting today for another reason. First of all, do y all have any idea how hard I worked all year trying to make comments about the HAND? I was commenting as Robert McNeill, but I changed my you tube name to Macismad (but not at you. I left all kinds of comments about the hand that kept coming and going. Would it have killed ya to mention any thing ant all about the coming and going hand? I finally gave up. Now today I see there are 2 hands! Not fair! You put these up without word. I know y all are just f, ing with me. All I can say is, PLEASE SAY WHAT IT IS ABOUT THE HAND(S! Please.

samthecookingguy Sam there is a huge shortcut you can do for making mashed potatoes that is less labor intensive:
Cut the potato into chunks without even peeling it, and pressure-steam it in the instant pot with just a little bit of water for 12 minutes, then put it through the ricer. The skins won't go through the ricer, especially if you put the chunks in skin-side up.
This works fast, doesn't give you water-logged potatoes, and saves the labor of peeling all those potatoes.

Smh, Ive never really disagreed with things you've said but stuffing/dressing is a throwaway dish ( they are the same thing) had this discussiontoo many times to count, but you chose it over macaroni and cheese. I'm disappointed. And gravy isn't a side to me it's complementary to the rice, mashed potatoes, and/or turkey turkey then give me broccoli an cheese casserole. Lil side note pecan pie is nasty

Ugh. My grandmother makes that gross gravy. I can't stand that. Sausage in stuffing is always insane to me. I'm southern though. Collards with smoked turkey legs. Simple brown butter stuffing with onion and celery. Regional choices. To each their own. We even add my grandmother's japanese sweet potatoes she poaches in butter basically with cinnamon and nutmeg. (She's 90 so i guess it can't be TOO bad for you)

One thing that I've not seen outside of the England is bread sauce. Served with chicken, turkey or pheasant. It's very easy to make, lots of recipes online. Cloves - has to be there, bit its not the flavour. Nutmeg? Personally i don't use it. But with a roast chicken, some peas, roast potatoes its heaven. I'm surprised its not more common in the USA, but you have your white gravy. .

While I appreciate the effort, I feel very strong about this. Not sure I can get behind the cornbread stuffing and hot Italian sausage. But my wife makes a very similar stuffing that is absolutely phenomenal. It uses Sage flavored stovetop stuffing and Jimmy Dean tube sausage. Add in celery, butter and some other things and it s mind blowing good!

Pro. Tip: use ready whip to finish up the moisture content of whipped potatoes. No one will have a clue what it is and everyone will rail on and on about how is the best stuff they ever had in their whole lives. This was accidental. I tried to make mashed potatoes and I didn't have milk so sour cream and ready whip or the solutions and day um

Tip, I normally get a whole chicken say a month prior and use the extra parts of that to make a stock and store for the holidays. Will then take the extra from the turkey and make a stock for the next holiday. I also use that stock for the stuffing.
If holiday ham I will add ham hocks to whatever stock I ll be using for that holiday ham.

I think it would be nice to see a progressive menu from time to time. I am on a KETO diet. OR, I will have my feet cut off, carbs, candy and potatoes are right out! A year and a half and I am off insulin. DIET ONLY now and my blood sugar levels are what a teen should have. That shit works.

I always cook my turkey the day b4. Then next day d-bone turkey and make my stock with the whole carcass. Then make the gravy, and have stock left over for turkey soup. I hope I can find the cornbread pieces, I'd like to try that for Xmas, seeing that we already had our Thanksgiving.

Been living in korea for about 2. 5 years. Thank you for all the recipes! I've been using a lot of them out here!
By the way, would your online shop happen to have any memorabilia of when you told Kathy Lee to shut her pie hole? That was epic! Lol you're the man Sam!

I agree, I grew up on marshmallows on sweet potatoes and it's too sweet. But Martha Stewart came out with a caramelized onion/chipotle sweet potato casserole many years ago and I look forward to making it every year. I still have requests to make it again the following year.

Gravy isn't a side! It's a condiment at the most! It goes on other dishes lol. We need another side! And yes, green bean casserole is the shit and needs to be at every Thanksgiving dinner! I feel you took the lazy way out by choosing gravy as a side.

In my family we don't make Stuffing, we call it dressing! Pork sausage, the giglets, fresh/day old bread crumbs, onions, lots of sage! It's a family tradition! (For Sam, white pepper smells funny don't you think) it smells like a horse barn! IDK Why!

Some people make sides out of memories. so for you to say something is disgusting that a person makes because it reminds them of some one is not cool. Not everything is made to be in trend more in tradition. remember that before you speak!

The best thing in regard to stuffing/dressing I ever did. was to slightly toast the Bread and use two different types. I used Potato bread and a good quality White Bread. Using a Pizza Cutter makes quick work when cubing the Bread.
