I am roasting the pork loin as we speak. My apartment does not have a communal grill so I am utilizing the oven. I marinated this for 24 hours and am now roasting and have the carrot and daikon pickling. I am looking forward to this sandwich as are my guests. Your videos are awesome. Keep on inspiring and creating.

I made this tenderloin tonight! So proud. I didnt make the banh mi sandwiches, though. The tenderloin was the main course. I didnt have fish sauce, so I replaced it with Worcestershire sauce. So damn good! Next time I take a trip to the grocery store, Ill pick up some fish sauce. Thank you!

That is nothing about the Vietnamese Sandwich that I have, it will never taste like it without the homemade pate and mayo. and ohhh. the Maggi soy at the last prep is a big deal of a taste. Your sandwich is way to far. You got the crunchiness and taste of cilantro that's it. Nice try.

Vietnamese person here: This looks amazing. The pork isn't done in the traditional way but honestly with the inclusion of fish sauce in the marinade and the pickles I'd serve this to my mom any day. Side note: we usually use butter rather than mayo on the bread but mayo sounds good too.

There's a stretch on El Cajon Blvd. that is a Vietnamese District. Go there to try a Bon Mi if ya don't want to make one. (Talmage) Also, the most amazing Asian Market there like on 50th & El Cajon Blvd. On the south side of the street. Go there if you haven't. You'll be glad you did.

I used to eat at a place in Orange County Ca called the Golden Basket and they made a gyro and I've never had one like it, now I live in Arkansas and gyros are few and far between so I need to make one myself but don't know how so please help a brother out.

Hey Sam, could you try an Asian inspired mac and cheese? For example, in South East Asia we have this delicious sweet barbecued pork, that goes amazing in mac and cheese when you chop it up into bits. Would love to see your take on something like that!

Ugh, if ur gonna use a lean piece of meat like tenderloin for banh mi, u need to cut it thin and into batons before u marinate it for maximum exposure to the marinade. It makes that lean meat more flavorful, and the meat doesnt fall out in big chunks
