Today I am a creamy baked macaroni and cheese. You may also know this as Souther Baked mac and cheese. This recipe does not require a roux and the use of American processed cheese helps keep the texture creamy. Ingredients 8 oz (227 g) elbow macaroni 2. 5 to 3 quarts water 1 1/2 Tbsp (15 g) chicken bouillon powder 8 oz (227 g) Velveeta cheese 8 oz (227 g) mild cheddar cheese 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese 8 fl oz (236. 5 ml) heavy cream 1 Tbsp (14 g) salted butter 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 cup (60 ml) reserved pasta water 1 large egg 1 Tbsp softened butter for baking dish

Oh thank you. I ve been searching for a Mac and cheese recipe that doesn t look dry and leathery. I also didn t want a recipe with flour in it. I ll give this a try. Can you also show how to make a white Mac and cheese?
