Taco Bell came out with a crispy chicken and cheese empanada called Crispanada. It comes with a side of spicy ranch dipping sauce. Well I decided to make my own and I think mine are better. Ditch the drive-thru and level up your Taco Bell cravings! This homemade Crispanada recipe captures the iconic crunch and melty cheese of the original, but with fresher flavors and way more bang for your buck. Tender, seasoned chicken gets wrapped in a golden, crispy shell bursting with gooey cheese. It's the ultimate handheld cheesy chicken golden brown crispy deliciousness, all made in your own kitchen! INGREDIENTS 12 pastry empanada dough discs 1 lb cooked chicken shredded 2 cups cheese 1 tsp light chili powder 1 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp ground cumin SPICY RANCH DIP 8 oz sour cream 1/2 envelope of Ranch seasoning mix 1 Tbsp chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

There is simply no sliver of this universe where Taco Bell can make anything better than or as good as Angelica. But it was nice to see how easy it can be to make an interesting snack. I’ve never seen prepared empanada pastry dough, and I will have to look for it in California. ( I laughed that you packed these for a field trip back to the bell for a show down.

if you're going to drive all the way back you should have asked the employees to try them out with your homemade sauce to get the seal of approval. I know that can be nerve-racking but why go out there for nothing if you dont upstage them in their own restaurant

I haven’t been to Taco Bell in a ton of years. Your crunchy chicken empanadas look SO AMAZING, I must try making these, as well as the sauce. I might have to tweak a little, according to what I can afford. But I’ll be shooting for close to yours. Thanks!

Where do you find empanada dough I usually shop at food lion and I can't find it anywhere Maybe I should try Harris Teeter I have the same problem with the egg roll wrappers. Help me out!

Premade empanada dough Where does one find that Please don’t tell me H-E-B because I’m just going to be ticked because I don’t have an H-E-B where I live. Maybe light years ahead.

Awesome video. I bet your method is way cheaper too. At $3 each crispanada buying 6 would be roght at about $20. Where can I get the empanada dough

Thank you for the delicious recipe, I look forward to trying it!

The Taco Bell crispanadas are small and really expensive. I have no doubt yours are infinitely superior in every way.
