This chicken and chicken soup (called Yeonggye-baeksuk in Korean, or ) is a simple, communal dish thats delicious, filling and easy to share with many people. It uses a small young chicken between 3 and 4 pounds which is boiled and then served with a rice porridge made from the broth.

Hello Maangchi! I'm a big fan of yours! My name is Fernanda, and I'm brazilian. I really like to follow your recipes to cook korean meals for my friends and family. Did you know that here in Brazil we have a chicken soup that is cooked with rice called canja? It's delicious! I think you would like it very much! I wonder if this soup might have some korean influence, back in the time when the first koreans arrived here during the XIX century.
