Corned Beef Stroganoff - Food Wishes

Whether you cook your corned beef specifically for this, or simply use what’s leftover, this is a great twist on classic beef stroganoff, and would be a delicious way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, or if you’re going the leftovers route, celebrate the day after. This really does taste like a proper stroganoff, but even more flavorful.

Have been known to lose my mind over beef stroganoff! . restaurant, home cooked; even the Stouffer's hack version using their Salisbury steaks(Guilty pleasure I'm sadly overdue for)
This is definitely another level. Understand the tradition of the buttered noodles, but agree that this dish should probably be best suited for serving on mashed or just baked potatoes-
Oh, oh, oh wait. A bed of Potatoes O'Brien!
2: 10 I think the Georgia O'Keefe version, might look more like a roast beef version.

I love it. Looks awesome. Thanks for the recipe. The way you talk though is extremely annoying. I know everyone else thinks the same but won't say anything. I can't figure out if you're talking or singing a song I can't put my finger on. Love the recipe, and thank you, but HATE the narrative and voice inflections. Only because of that, I won't be back. Good luck brother.

I would try swapping out the white wine with beer to go all in on making this a St Patrick's day recipe. The recipe as a whole is not far off from a beef stew, and a lot of recipes already include beer. Your typical can or bottle Guinness Draught would work perfect in this recipe.

Bruh.
Once you added salt i realized this is either a joke, you're pulling a chef formerly known as John, or social needs to be formally abandoned.
Are you just contractually obligated to not revisit your old recipes They could use some updating.

I love a good conred beef, pastrimi even more, so a stroganoff to get more CB works for me! Defintiely genius! Also, i too think rice or mashed potatoes in lieu of the noodles would be great because they'd soak up the liquid and flavor.

I think this may be the first time I've looked askance at a Chef John recipe. However, I just may try this. The finished dish image in the video looked much better to me than the still photo at the beginning.

Never thought of making a stroganoff with corned beef, but it sounds really good. But personally, I would cook the corned beef in the instant pot. Doesn’t take as long and comes out super tender.

Add more flour, reduce heat, stir and sour cream not gonna curdle.
Best served on buckwheat. Slightly sweet slightly bitter it perfect for sour/salty souses and everything with sauteed onions.

To avoid buying a container of buttermilk to make creme fraiche, what may I sub, if anything, for 2 tablespoons of buttermilk 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt with a drop of lemon juice

Nice dish. However, corned beef and cabbage, nor linked variations involving CB, are authentic Irish dishes or originate from culinary traditions or regional cuisine in Ireland.

This sounds really nice but I’ve never been a fan of mushrooms. How would you suggest I modify the recipe Can I just leave them out or should I substitute something instead

I dont suppose you did experiments with thin strips of beef. strictly for the visual appeal Was just wondering if it didnt work out before I tried it: )

The packet is pickling spice. You can amp up the corned beef flavor just a little by throwing in an extra teaspoon or so of pickling spice. Don't overdo it.

I want to this!
P. S. The combination of mustard seed, coriander, and peppercorns creates a pungent and slightly spicy flavor.

I've thought of combining Chinese BBQ sauce and corn beef this year. Might be an interesting reimagining of the classic Char Shu

I haven’t seen food wishes in ages! And hearing Chef John with everything detail as it was 10 years ago makes me feel so comfy

I’ve never had a problem with sour cream breaking which I figure is because the sour cream I buy is just cream and culture
