Great recipe, thank you! Another idea if you have stale cinnamon buns, panettone, brioche, stollen, coffee cake, or donuts: Dip stale slices into beaten egg, seasoned sparingly with salt, nutmeg, cinnamon; pan-fry in butter. This is a really great dish to use up special breads which are dry and should never be wasted. Thanks again!

Went to the store today, but decided against buying the outrageously priced apples (price doubled from last fall, but now wish I had picked up a couple of 'em. Due to fuel costs, now go to store only twice per month, but saving this recipe. After next trip to grocery store, I'll definitely be making these.

There is a new apple (I think 3rd. season) called Cosmic Crisp. I don't know how widespread the distribution is because they can only be grown in Washington state for 10 years. If you see them you have to try them. One of the cool things about them is that they don't turn brown when peeled.

Thanks for the fritter idea, chef. I really like the Idea of a tall stack of pancakes or waffle, but the first time I dug into one, it was quickly turned into disappointment due to the monotonous nature of griddled pancake. But this? This is goood.

Hi Chef John, here is an idea. Get Matt Stonie or Joey Chestnut to do your eating outro. They start off eating at your speed or slower and gradually ramp the speed eating to professional level. Also, I love a nice easy recipe. Will give these a go.

Instead of maple syrup, I'm going to use apple butter. I'm not contrary, I just have a couple of jars of homemade apple butter in the pantry. You are the chef of these apple fritter pancakes, but you don't mind changes your fans make.

I think I'll try this with Bisquick
Since we're cooking instead of following a recipe, I believe I'll use almond extract. That might brighten up some of the Apple flavors even more
And as always,
THANK YOU

these look so good. will have to obtain some apples tomorrow or on the way home tonight after work and give this on a go for breakfast. wonder how this might work with a bit of shredded sharp cheddar cheese as a topping?

Too easy. I'm not a pancake guy (crepes or waffles definitely) but this recipe will satisfy a crowd, too easy. Thanks again chef, glad someone had the common sense to nail down an easy masterpiece

Been making a very similar recipe for decades. Cosmic Crisp apples make the best pancakes! Turning things in your frying pan to make sure they cook evenly is a must and extremely easy to demonstrate.

I need ideas for sandwiches for party platters. I do egg salad, chicken salad, and ham atm but I think ham is a bit boring, I want to switch it with something not super expensive or fiddly to make

I've never managed to cook pancakes properly - no matter the recipe. I tend to have the pan either far to hot or far to cold, I don't cook them regularly enough to start figuring it out.
