I prefer waffles by a lot for a couple resaons
Firstly, the most important one due to the shape, the surface area is increased making it a lot crispier and so that it can hold more chocolate sauce(or syrup)
Secondly, it is satisfying to eat. Don't get me wrong, i can enjoy a plate of good fluffy pancakes on a Sunday mornin, but a satisfying crunch and the soft inside of a waffle is unmatched

I am a pancake person and my husband is the waffle person and he don't like pancakes. I do enjoy them both. I have gotten the overflow and the noise from my waffle maker too. It's a little funny. I do find for me waffles are a breakfast for not dessert for us. Enjoy your May.

I totally agree with you, Emma, I will always take pancakes over waffles. But you made these waffles look so perfectly unreal! And waffles have also seemed more of a dessert than just breakfast. Next time we make waffles I'll be sure to make sure that it's Emma's recipe!

Love both. If you end up doing a pancake video, I would love to see the recipe multiple ways or start a series on it. Such as buttermilk pancakes, regular, ones made with greek yogurt. Understanding the ratios is hard for me when it comes to pancake recipes xD

I was recently gifted a waffle iron and haven't found a recipe yet that satisfies me. But I'm betting this will be the one! Why waffles over pancakes? Cuz I prefer crispy over soft unless I'm looking for that. Same reason I prefer granola over cooked oatmeal.

Since we moved to Portland 8 years ago, we discovered Liege Waffles, which have these pearlized sugar bombs in them. When I make them it is with sourdough discard. But I am a pancake person, preferably with sourdough pancakes. I don t like fluffy. Go figure.

100% waffles. I never want to eat pancakes. Eating a pancake is like eating a solid mass of slightly sweet flour no thank you. A waffle at least has texture to go along with it. But if we re being honest, I never gravitate towards any of them for breakfast

I am on the pancake team, and have been loving your recipe using packaged oatmeal! I'm married to a waffle lover, and he has several waffle makers (different shapes for the grandkids, and makes them every time we are all together!

Personally I love both and consider both to be breakfast foods. In a hurry? Make your eggs and bacon while the waffle is cooking and then make a sandwich with everything (plus a little syrup) and head out the door. Yummy.
