Bit of a white supremacist list- as good as some of the tracks are! Where's the funk, soul and hip hop For people who love those- instead of or as well as Alternative/Dad Rock/New Wave etc- then I highly recommend the following: It's Nasty by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Don't Look Any Further by Dennis Edwards and Siedah Garrett, The System's killer synth-funk hit 'Don't Disturb This Groove' and everything recorded by Bobby Brown in the 80s; eg the likes of Roni, Rock Witcha and Don't Be Cruel!

I lived through the 80s, and never heard of almost all of these songs, if not for SiriusXM, never would have heard of Eighties (Killing Joke) and Dead Mans Party (Oingo Boingo, (still don't like them) And as for Message of love (The Pretenders, Ride like the Wind (Christopher Cross) and Wild Wild West (Escape Club, they still get played on some radio stations near me _constantly_

Still can’t get over the thrill of watching The Cybertronic Spree (a cover band dressed up as G1 Transformers like Hot Rod and Arcee doing mostly songs from Transformers: The Movie, as well as nostalgic favorites and even some of their own original songs) doing their cover of Run With Us live. That’s such a bop.

If you're asking for favorite deep tracks from bands we like, I'd have to say Saved by Zero by The Fixx and Marooned by Pink Floyd. And probably not a group you'd cover, but Everything and Nothing by Mudvayne is a big favorite

Echo and the Bunnymen,

Some of the Bands
that Make Up
the Personal Soundtracks

LOL. Two thirds of these are faves of mine and number 1 is actually my fave A-ha track as I find it way better than Take On Me which only gained popularity due to that ground breaking video.

I'd heard the songs Cambodia and The sun aways shines on tv as cover remixes by Trance groups for years before I ever knew they were covers, still like the remixes better
reply

Ohhhhhh, I get it, this video is geared towards Gen Alpha because I've heard ALL of these songs
EDIT: Even my Gen Z kids have heard these songs before.

reply

Why such a silly title for a list - Never I know these songs very well. If YOU have never heard of'em, that's your ache, but we know them
reply

The sun always shines on TV is one of my favorite songs and but not tonight also a banger by Depeche Mode my favorite group of all time
reply

I always play Dead Man's Party at every Halloween party I attend. It usually gets people out on the dance floor.
