Worked in an office tower, a man had a guide dog, a black lab. Poor animal must have been the
saddest, most miserable dog in the world. I wondered if the dog ever was allowed to run and
act like a real dog. As it was, he was just enslaved to that blind man; all he knew was training
and so on. He did not have a life of his own. I don't see how anyone could do that to a dog, any
dog, deprive them of their entire natural organic life, reduced to an animal machine enslaved.
I'm not kidding about this. Seeing that dog when I did was painful for me. I would never put
an animal through that hell. The blind man seemed oblivious to the pain that dog suffered
every day. To him, the dog was just a tool for his mobility. It was all just about him, not the dog.
Must be electronic devices today to replace guide dogs. It's inhumane to put a dog in misery.

What is not to love. it's a morning kiss and a nudge to remind me my next move is towards the door. dogs are here to try and erase the bad things in life. My English setter is sweeter than a truck full of sugar. Your Smudge looks like she can sweeten the darkest of days.

Laurrie was my seeing eye dog golden retriever. She was a beautiful soul & is sorely missed. She gave me her best and kept me safe while crossing the busy streets of Philadelphia.
