I hope they give us a full locomotion option as well. Especially for the psvr aim controller. Raw data allowed for both and I love that game, granted it didn't have psvr aim support. I just feel like one of the main selling points for the aim contoller was that it had all the buttons of a ps4 controller. Seems like a waste for a game that supports it to not have free locomotion.

In this one you can't move. You can only teleport yourself spawn after spawn. No full locomotion; id Software is now so dump and full of shit ideas that this is getting out of hands. If you can't face the competition with what a 2018 VR game should be, maybe this is a sign to go for a full retirement. You are so dead. What next? A DOOM VR rail shooter. Just give up!

Would be cool to glory kill with fists. Vr actually punching, sawing, blowing up with your hands wouldve been cooler. Also bummer about the movement. Almost like phone game quality jumping around non stop. Just get used to a joy stick. Big game hunter rifle game can teach you it's not that hard to get used to moving without moving. Great vid!

no full locomotion, no buy. Skyrim, Farpoint works well for me and I honestly think for lot of people. Gradual turning is perfect to remove nausea. So imagine this, standard locomotion with gradual turning (option smooth or instant) and full motion controller support, just like skyrim. If they do so for Doom VFR then. TAKE MY MONEY!

I don't see a point in triple A VR releases as long as VR is as expensive as it is. These triple A VR titles by bethesda are absolute money pits - they've blown their load way too soon on the VR band wagon. Give it a couple years when the concept is more affordable for the average joe schmoe and then you'll see a profit.

I love Patrick Gill, but my first impression of this game is that it looks like one of those arcade shooters at Big Al's with a DOOM skin slapped on. I understand the difficulties of making a VR title, but maybe they should have considered that before making this game. DOOM is about fast, frenetic, agile combat.

now that we have HL: A (virtual reality fined tuned for the best experience) i feel like these companies that released vr games prior to 2020 should update their old games
this look like a $10 experience but i'll pay full price on steam if it feels like HLA but doom instead

It's clearly more of an experiment than a polished product. The goal doesn't really seem to be immersion but ways to prevent people from throwing up because its such a disorientating experience no matter what they've been trying.

When I heard that Doom was getting a vr release, I threw up from just thinking about experiencing something fast-paced like that in virtual reality. Kinda cool that they made something exclusively for vr gameplay.

Should've just been played with a controller. Would've been way more satisfying to move properly and perform actual glory kills. Using the motion controllers is definitely not worth it.

Not understanding the complaints with the teleport system. Can you imagine moving yourself and having no slow-mo and trying to turn and face enemies. You'd be headbutting the wall every minute.

I love the camera position indicator, that's very smart and useful. Just maybe it could have been a bit smaller to remain unobtrusive. But maybe that's just how it seems in 2D.

Bummed that the glory kills are just insta-gibs instead of full animations. Looks fun but just doesn't seem to have that extra flare that made the 2016 game so bloody fun.

: / I wish they gave us the option for free motion. I don't get dizzy from moving fast in VR like some people. Skyrim VR is giving us the option, why can't Doom VFR?

Thank goodness, because that's what was holding Doom back: Too much mobility.
Seriously, ditch these gimmicks and for the love of Satan just make an add-on campaign.

I think it's worth spending the money to get PSVR just for this game and farpoint? Also do you know how the performances of these games on the original PS4 non-pro

Although I can understand why they implemented a teleporting system for movement, it looks very unpleasant to experience and quite out of place.

They Added full Trackpad Locomotion. teleport sucks. I can't stand to see the video that way. it ruins all the immersion and VR is 100% immersion.

Looks interesting, a little awkward but I would like to see this first hand before making a purchase.

I'd rather have free motion but other games have made teleporting great, like Raw Data. If its good teleporting then it will still be fun.

This movement looks awful. It's so jerky and there is no fluidity. Way to kill what could have been the best game on VR to date.

Wish they'd just give us the original version of doom and doom eternal in vr instead of some slow baby version.

Walking mechanics are out in vr.
Having it be a teleporting system is lazy. This game won't do will for it.

I'm not crazy about the teleport way of having to move, but it's definitely very useful during battle.
