For this list, we’ll be going over the unexplained plot points from the enchanting series that were fully explored on the page. Our countdown includes Why Does the Defense Teacher Always Change, Why Couldn’t Harry See Thestrals Earlier, How Did Voldemort’s Followers Find the Trio, and more! If there’s a wizarding question we magically left off our list, please take your quills to the comments. Not really though it scratches up your keyboards and phones. In addition to the natural constraints of films, they also suffer from what I call premature screen adaptation.
This is where movie or television versions of a literary source material are developed before all of books in the source material have been written. This means if there are small bits of character development, or minor plot points, or even some character introductions that the film makers spend little or even no time on because they feel they don't really have too much impact on the story but in the books released subsequent to the early movie productions it becomes clear that those previous minor stories are much more relevant to later plot development and so when the movies get to the later plot development there can be things that seem forced into dialogue, things happen for reasons the viewer doesn't fully get, aspects of character behaviour that isn't explained or is confusing or even what seems like complete gaps in the narrative.

In Deathly Hallows part 1, when the trio is brought to Malfoy Manor, Bellatrix briefly mentions checking what Hermione’s last spell was (jinxing Harry’s face to disguise him. They never show the wand check on screen. The ability to tell the last spell a wizard used was introduced in the fourth book. After the World Cup, Harry loses his wand, and Barty Crouch, Jr, finds it, and that’s how he creates the Dark Mark. When Harry, the Weasleys, and Ministry of Magic officials find the wand later, they do the wand check and find out Harry’s wand was used to create the Dark Mark. They also found the wand in the hands of Winky, who was Barty Crouch, Sr. ’s house-elf. Believing she created the Dark Mark, he gives her clothes and fires her.

how dare you describe the Gaunts as merely Voldemort's relative[s] when they were in fact Voldemort's maternal family as well as the last descendants of Salazar Slytherin
(before anyone can breathe
1. Isolt Sayre's children Martha Steward was a Squib and Rionach Steward died as a spinster allegedly due to being a Parselmouth
2. There is no Cursed Child in Ba Sing Se)
the Taboo revelation was a deleted scene

The reason Harry couldn't see the Thestrals is because the concept of death to a baby is one that they wouldn't be able to understand until later years, seeing Cedric die in front of him, Harry can see the Thestrals. It's like In Hogwarts Legacy after you create your character and the death of one Minstery of Magic Worker

I really hope that if in the end they will really develop the television series on HP, the authors dedicate an entire episode to the Marauders and everything that as to do with them, and that they cast the characters as the right age that they were in the books! .

Just for clarity the Defence against the Dark Arts Position being cursed is just a theory right There's no actual tangible evidence in the books that it was actually cursed and people just theorized it was based on something Dumbledore said to Harry
reply

You forgot to mention that three of the Marauders were Animagi and that their names referred to the animals they transformed into. Prongs (James) was a stag, Padfoot (Sirius) was a dog, and Wormtail (the traitor) was, fittingly, a rat.

I haven't watched more than PS in the past ten years but listen to the books every night and I am seriously baffled how people who have only seen the films caught up. Those are some massive plot points.

Just you wait: When the TV Series from Max comes out in two years time, we'll see these questions be showed properly albeit on the small screen in full just like from the books.
reply

Film adaptations can’t have absolutely everything the books have because of a limited runtime. The TV show may have everything because of more time to flesh everything out

Books always do a better job of explaining, since there's more time for exposition. I wished that they'd featured Neville's parents in the hospital in the fifth movie.
reply

This is why I can’t wait for the Harry Potter series cuz it will include everything from the books hopefully the part where snape calls lily a mudblood

Anyone else read books like the Harry Potter books. And can visually visualize what you’re reading when reading
I know I can
