It seems like Hanna-Barbera never quite knew what they wanted to do with Captain Caveman. In the 70s he initiated as a real caveman (I guess) with the Teen Angels; then in the early 80s, he appeared on the Flintstone Comedy Show where instead of being a real caveman, Captain Caveman was the superhero alter ego of a guy name Chester who worked at a news station called Cave Central with Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble (and since when did Wilma and Betty have jobs. Finally (and in my favorite incarnation, in the late 80s, he was added to the Flintstone Kids in a segment called Captain Caveman and Son.

I saw all of these on Boomerang, plus many more clones. Even Frogger from the Sateday Supercade is under that umbrella. (Someone needs to make that anthology available to the public)
Call it cloaning, insperation, or ripping off; with similarities flooding every corner of media, if you're gonna imitate something (not plagerize, put some heart in it, and do it well. We've come a LONG way since animation's dark age.

Scooby-Doo is such a wonderful series and of course if you see something like that get popular with kids then youre going to try to imitate them! Its too bad though that we never got a show with a mystery solving cat! Think of the insane rivalry if Scooby had a cat competitor! It would be wild! Jabberjaw was a really fun series though and had a super catchy music video!

Not sure which I'm more surprised by, the fact that Hanna Barbera rehashed their own material to such a degree or that The Ghost Busters didn't make it to the list.
(Not The Real Ghostbusters, that was made after the aforementioned series, hence the distinction in the name to show, it was the ghostbusters series based on the movies)

I'll never forget how ripped off I felt when I realized that every Scooby Doo monster was just some guy in a disguise. Now I see just how lazy William Hanna and Joseph Barbera really were. (Remember how Fred Flintstone used to run past the same couch a half a dozen times) They phoned it in all the way to the bank, and I watched.

Gen X kid here. I remember watching most of these! Josie and the Pussycats was my favorite. I loved that Val as the Black girl in the group was also the smartest. She could McGyver anything! And the music was pretty cool Im gonna do some voodoo on you baby

What's funny voice cast wise most of the shows either had Frank Welker Casey Kasem or Don Messick as part of the main cast. All 3 were part of the Scooby cast members. Recurring cast members Janet Waldo or John Stephenson Or Scooby guest star Mel Blanc.

I remember all of these shows except Clue Club and Fang Face. Never heard of them before. And it's true, cartoons of the seventies and eighties were pretty dreadful, as a rule. Subsequent generations had much better shows to watch.

Even though I watched an episode or two of Jabberjaw, Speed buggy and The amazing chan and the chan clan, it's Josie and the Pussycats that deserve the same love as Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Gang. I also watched Dynomutt, dog wonder.

Warner Brothers really needs to make a reboot series of Dynomutt Dog Wonder and Blue Falcon, though. It may have been a Scooby ripoff, but it was definitely a more appealing and unique Hanna Barbera IP that was really underrated.

Honestly surprised that Josie and the gang didn't appear in that one episode of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. Sure, it was all a dream in Scooby's head, but still, it was pretty fun to see them make that kind of acknowledgement

I remember Gobber and the Ghost Chasers. It was almost a carbon copy of Scooby do. as well as a live-action version of Speed Buggy called WonderBug. Comic book cartoons were always my favorite growing up in the 60s and 70s

I LOVED The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan when I caught it on Boomerang in the 2010s. It was simple and basic as hell, but the kids were a lot of fun and Keye Luke played the role of Chan brilliantly.

JabberJaw certainly was a cartoon incarnation of the late Jerome Curly Howard of the three stooges, which is a nice throwback to one of comedys great comedians.
